Riberia Street work to begin Monday in St. Augustine

Residents could notice reduced water pressure and discolored water during maintenance of Riberia Street that begins next week.

Utility work on the road will begin Monday and last through late November. The testing will be done between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., according to a City of St. Augustine news release.

Signs have been posted in areas where work is being performed.

The work includes hydrant maintenance and flushing the water system south of King Street between Matanzas and San Sebastian Rivers.

The water will be safe, according to the release. However, people should run faucets for five to 10 minutes if they notice discolored water, and the water should begin to run clear.

Check water quality before doing laundry.

If the water does not clear up after running the water for 10 minutes, or for other questions, call the public works department at 825-1040.
