Cheryl Grew-Gillen will now oversee UND's Memorial Union as executive director.
She replaced Cassie Gerhardt, who held the position on an interim basis, UND spokesman Peter Johnson said in an email.
Grew-Gillen comes to UND from the University of Houston, where she was the director of student centers. Her salary, excluding benefits, is $110,000 annually.
The Memorial Union is on University Avenue and serves as a central gathering point on UND's campus.
