A man who dared to dance behind some unsuspecting cops outside Grand Central is suing the city after they cursed at him and threw him on the ground.

According to the Daily News, Alexandre Nzebele attempted to get down behind a group of police last December as part of the Ellen Degeneres-inspired "dance dare."

“What the fuck is wrong with you?” they're heard saying in the video. “What are you dancing in the street for? Are you a fucking asshole?” they asked. Nzebele tried to explain that he was not so much a "fucking asshole" as a man just trying to dance, and was promptly tossed to the street. To be fair, the days leading up to Christmas werer beyond horrible for the NYPD, so it's reasonable to assume they were on edge.

Degeneres's #DanceDare challenge urges participants to "sneak up behind perfect strangers, to dance behind them without them knowing it." Though potentially annoying, dancing in public isn't specifically illegal, so Nzebele was not arrested.

He is suing for damages of up to $5 million.
