FOREST PARK, Ill. — A new group campaigning for economic justice took aim Friday at an iconic Chicago area company.
Black Workers Matter protested at the Ferrara Candy plant in Forest Park.
The group accuses the company of racism, inaccurate time keeping, low pay and union busting.
One former employee claims he was laid off after complaining about not being paid for the hours he worked.
The protesters included members of Fight for 15 which is calling for a $15 per hour wage. Many Ferrara employees now make $8.25 an hour.
