I've put off formulating a list long enough for this goal. It is hard to narrow down a list, but I didn't want to set the book goal higher as I have so many other projects going on. I tried to vary this list with some new books that don't appear on other long terms list and I went with all pre-1900 books for this. I also excluded books I have already started.
Yikes, typing 2018 was a little scary. That seems so far, yet I know it will be upon me before I know it. (After I typed 2019, just add 5 to 4...but forgot the Jan-Dec issue.)
This goal comes from The Classics Club, click image or name link to signup and get all the details from the fine people running the program.
The guidelines are simple; select at least 50 books to read in the five year period stated in your title. Classic is defined by you and the guidelines you describe. Maybe you only want to read Russian authors or books before a certain date or only mystery, you decide. Post your thoughts for each book once you've completed it. | |
