Recommendations
Ceiling mounting of Estimotes reduces variance and may
also help with blocking by the operator
Signal transmission and reception are dependent on the
orientation of both the transmitter and receiver. So this
should be built into positioning models.
Radio absorption by the operator is significant in
determining distance. Again models should take account
of the direction of the operator.
Other radio interference does not seem significant in
practice.
Codepilots.comComputer Consulting
Future research
Does other hardware suffer from the same directionality
issues?
Improve experimental protocol to eliminate operator
issues, and take more accurate measurements.
Collect further data on the variation in signal strength, to
check for statistical significance of effects observed.
Experiment with a predictive model to take observed
effects into account.

Automated Engineering of Domain-Specific Metamorphic Testing Environments by Pablo Gómez Abajo, has 63 slides with 127 views.Context. Testing is essential to improve the correctness of software systems. Metamorphic testing (MT) is an approach especially suited when the system under test lacks oracles, or they are expensive to compute. However, building an MT environment for a particular domain (e.g., cloud simulation, model transformation, machine learning) requires substantial effort. Objective. Our goal is to facilitate the construction of MT environments for specific domains. Method. We propose a model-driven engineering approach to automate the construction of MT environments. Starting from a meta-model capturing the domain concepts, and a description of the domain execution environment, our approach produces an MT environment featuring comprehensive support for the MT process. This includes the definition of domain-specific metamorphic relations, their evaluation, detailed reporting of the testing results, and the automated search-based generation of follow-up test cases. Results. Our method is supported by an extensible platform for Eclipse, called Gotten. We demonstrate its effectiveness by creating an MT environment for simulation-based testing of data centres and comparing with existing tools; its suitability to conduct MT processes by replicating previous experiments; and its generality by building another MT environment for video streaming APIs. Conclusion. Gotten is the first platform targeted at reducing the development effort of domain-specific MT environments. The environments created with Gotten facilitate the specification of metamorphic relations, their evaluation, and the generation of new test cases.

TrustArc Webinar - Data Privacy and Cyber Security: A Symbiotic Relationship by TrustArc, has 12 slides with 113 views. In today’s digital age, data has become an organization’s lifeblood. As the use of digital technologies continues to escalate, so do the risks associated with personal data, which continue to grow exponentially as well. To effectively safeguard personal and sensitive information, organizations must understand the intricate relationship between data privacy, cybersecurity, and incident response. Data privacy and cybersecurity are two sides of the same coin. Data privacy focuses on how personal data is to be collected, used, stored, shared and controlled, while cybersecurity aims to protect systems and networks from unauthorized access, digital attacks, malware and data breaches. However, even with the best data privacy and security measures in place, cyber incidents can still occur. A well-prepared incident response plan is crucial for minimizing the impact of a breach and restoring normal operations. Join our experts on this webinar to discuss how data privacy, cybersecurity, and incident response interact and are essential for safeguarding your organization’s digital assets. This webinar will review: - How data privacy and cybersecurity intersect - How to develop a comprehensive privacy and security strategy to safeguard personal and sensitive information - What are suggestions and expectations around incident response
