2 men hospitalized after shooting in Birmingham's Green Acres neighborhood

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Two men were hospitalized Friday evening after a shooting in the Green Acres neighborhood on Birmingham's west side, police said.

Two men who appeared to be in their 30s were shot in the 3400 block of Boise Avenue Southwest around 5:50 p.m., Birmingham police Sgt. Matthew Self said.

One man was shot in the buttocks and the other was shot in the head and has life-threatening injuries, Self said. Both men were taken to UAB Hospital.

Self said it appeared the men were with a group playing dominoes at the house when someone started shooting. The case is still under investigation.
