It's never too early to prep for some mistletoe action.

Trying to subtly gnaw on the flaky skin on your lip while talking to your office crush? Not attractive. Here’s how you can keep your pout smooth, soft, and oh-so kissable. Get ready to pucker up, CG!

1. Drink water.
And lots of it. One of the reasons why you may have chronic dry lips is because you’re dehydrated from within. Opt for H20 instead of juices and sodas to keep your body hydrated.

2. A lip scrub.
Did you know you can actually just make your own with the ingredients in your kitchen? Just mix a tablespoon of brown sugar with one teaspoon of olive oil (or VCO) and honey. Oh, and it tastes delicious, too!

3. A fluoride-free toothpaste.
If you break out a lot around your chin, or if your lips feel extra tight and itchy after you brush your teeth, you may actually be allergic to your toothpaste. Switch to a fluoride-free option like this one from VMV.

4.  A good lip balm.
Licking your lips actually dries ’em out even more, so always pack this in your kikay kit to keep your pucker smooth and soft. Try Bioderma Atoderm Restorative Lip Balm, P910.

5. A moisturizing lippie.
Yaaaa…you’re gonna want to stay away from matte formulas first and use one that keeps your kisser, well, kissable. We’re loving the colors and moisture-packed formula of Happy Skin’s Forbidden Fruit Limited Edition Lippie Collection.

6. A lip mask.
They exist! Just put it on top of your entire mouth (including the skin around it) for 10 to 15 minutes–it’s the perfect way to prep your lips before a date. Try Tony Moly Kiss Kiss Lovely Lip Patch, P128.
