If you were umming and ahhing about whether to install the new Apple update right away, it’s new list of emojis might be all the incentive you need. 

iPhone users who download iOS 10.2 will be able to send bacon, an avocado or a face palm to their friends as part of 72 new emojis available.

Others include a clown, water polo players, smiley faces with cowboy hats or a drool, a gorilla, a shark, firefighter and airline pilot.

They will form part of the 10.2 update – the second major one, following 10.1.1 at the end of October.

Outside the world of emojis, other highlights include a headphone icon and new wallpapers, as well as picture and camera updates.

How to install iOS 10.2

To get the new iPhone and iPad software, users can simply open up the Settings app on their device, then select General, followed by Software Update, then tap on Download and Install.

The are 72 new emojis in the update.

As well as those mentioned above there are also news careers such as astronauts and welders and animals such as a fox, duck and squid.

Camera updates

You can now set your screen in Droplet Blue, Droplet Red or Droplet Yellow.

Headphone icon

As part of the decision to scrap the headphone jack, the icon shows up when bluetooth headphones are connected to the device.

TV app

It is only for users in the US but will play downloaded content from iTunes and connect all media apps to a single sign in.
