I guess I just forgot.
To ask him what he did for a living, I mean.
By the time I did, I was in—deep.
He was the perfect boyfriend.
Attentive, gorgeous, guessing my every wish and fulfilling them.
The sex was earth-shattering.
He even dealt with my crazy mom the way no one else could.
He popped the question, God, such a perfect guy.
There was just one issue:
He slept with other girls on camera for a living.
How the heck do you deal with that?

"Is it too early to ask how you like your sex?"
"Of course not. After all, we're on the second date. Isn't it time we talk about intercourse?"

Ciro Silveira needs a girlfriend really badly. He craves a normal relationship, even a marriage with kids. So far, he is not lucky. After 50 (yes 50!) attempts which resulted in failure, Ciro meets Savannah.
“You’re the perfect boyfriend. What is it— Do you get sick of them and move on or something?”
“Ha, no. The relationship goes sick. They don’t last long. Usually—”

Savannah could be the solution to Ciro’s problem. She is a nice girl, hardworking, good-looking, sensitive, lovable, funny, easy to talk to. And Savanna falls head over heels in love with him. Because he is really the best intended boyfriend. As long as Savannah says ‘Yes’.

BE MY GIRLFRIEND

He sends flowers:
Flowers. every day flowers of the same kind. I don’t know what to do with them anymore.

He takes her to long walk and buys her fast-food:
We’ve had hot dogs for dinner. Then corn dogs. Then we topped them off with churros and real Coke, no diet. I’m buzzing in the breeze, from the loud circus music, from his hand on my hip and how it spreads warmth through the cotton of my shirt. I crack small unintentional jokes that cause him to smile.

And he just needs to get over the first steps and get straight into sex.
“Oh once you’re my girlfriend, I’ll take you on so many dates you’ll get sick of them. But we’re skipping the childish stages where we scour each other for flaws and do the whole base one, base two thing.”
My stomach surges with anxious excitement.
“Once you’re mine, there won’t only be food and flowers and dates and trips. I spoil the shit out of my girlfriends, and sex is a big part of that. Think about it. I want to undress you every day and make you tremble.”

And when the sex finally happens, it is mind-blowing.
“Did you enjoy what we did last night?”
I bite my lip against the flashback to euphoria. “Yeah. Maybe too much.”

The only thing is that Ciro is not totally honest with her. He is supposed to be an actor, but she doesn’t know him. He is filming far away, but he never tells her details about it. She asks him to watch together one of his films, but he continuously postpones it.
When Savannah finds out about his real job, it is too late. All her friends know before her. And Ciro wants to marry her.

Savanna is in love, confused, scared, jealous (Ciro has a big fan-club full of willing women and men) and basically the decision now is in her hands. How much open-minded can she be?

This book was a great surprise! And I loved it. It pushed my limits, it made me laugh, it made me happy, it made me more understanding.
Of course it is a playful, naughty lovestory .
Of course it will have a happy ending.

FREAKING FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will admit that porn star books are one of my favorite tropes in the romance genre. And I have been lucky enough to love every one that I have read.
Needless to say, I was very excited for this book from the get go. Since the moment I read the blurb, I was hooked. When it landed in my Kindle??? I threw a darn party!
Did it live up to my expectations??? YES!!!!
I loved everything about this book.
Savvanah is a young woman working two jobs. She considers herself ordinary and she has no problem with that. She is content with her friends, her jobs and her mother...Until Ciro storms into the restaurant she waitresses and into her life. He is gorgeous, kind and totally out of her league in her book. The last thing she wants is a boyfriend...but that is what Ciro is after.
Their relationship is fast paced; their chemistry, scorching. But Savvanah knows that something is off with her perfect man.
What does he actually do for a living?
I loved, loved the storyline!!! It intrigued me, it captivated me and most importantly, it didn't turn me off as vulgar, given the occupation of our hero.
The book gives us a perspective that I always want in a book with such a theme. It shows that Ciro is normal, despite being involved in the adult film industry. I loved how the author explored his emotions and how she made him into such a lovable human being! The guy is a gorgeous teddy bear!
What would you do if the man you loved slept with other women on camera for money?
I loved the secondary characters as well, especially Ciro's adorable pet, Princess!!! Guh!!!
This book gave me the butterflies!!! I devoured every page and I cannot wait for the next book in the series!!! Cannot wait to see which characters the author explores next!!!
Certain thing is, this adult film star will be your next book boyfriend! Do not miss this book!!!

i thought this would have had a fairy-tale'ish twist to it.. but nope, the hero continues to have sex with women and men for his job, even after chasing after the not- so-great-looking heroine. Literally chasing, as in sending flowers everyday till she said yes to being his girlfriend. All that without telling her the truth about his job. Till around 45% when she finds out while accidentally watching porn with her roommates. Yes, he really is a PORN STAR and yes, i felt like the heroine was a complete doormat. He manipulates her with words and sex. That 1 star was for that first 45%. Your writing is fantastic dear author, i just wished i enjoyed your plot. But clearly, i'm just not that open minded.

Please be prepared for my rant..
Soooo.... maybe I am just not normal or the complete exception here but No... just no. I am that person that gets a little miffed when couples part ways and have "relations" with other people.. I know it's stupid and not logical but it hurts my heart a little in any book I read that goes that way. BUT to actually be straight up "fucking" other people while being in a relationship is such a disgusting turn off for me. As nice as Caio was I really disliked him. He openly justifies his work is not cheating because it is a job. Well... if you blatantly stick your wick in someone that IS NOT your girlfriend you are CHEATING whether it's openly or not it is WRONG!! He actually admits to Savannah that he has tried to be in no less than 50 relationships and everyone he tries to date can't get past him doing porn for a living. Hmmm.. shocker! How this woman feels special is completely beyond me. I would have told him to go fuck himself, moved, changed my goddamn number, blocked him in every way possible, but does Savannah do any of these things???? NOPE. She blocks him for a few, meets up with him to "end things" and then has sex with him WHERE SHE ASKS HIM TO GO BARE. Are you fucking kidding me?!?! No just no to everything I just read.

I thought that Savannah was the worst sort of blind pushover. I literally had my mouth open in my "what the fuck" face for 99% of this book. Spoiler>

First things first. Sunniva Dee never seizes to amaze me. I have to be honest and say with this book's title I was curious, a little nervous and yet again I knew Sunniva Dee would give it her magic touch. Her stories are one of kind and so are her characters. My expectations were blown to smithereens cause boy oh boy did I love this story and was wooed properly by Ciro Silveira.

Ciro Silveira is not a man with an ordinary job. No, he works in the adult movie industry. He's not a typical porn star, meaning taking advantage of his popularity and his incredible skills in bed to pursue women. Been there done that. No to him it's a job he takes very seriously and tries his best to separate himself from it when the director yells "that's a wrap".
Savannah Nelson is one funny, quirky and wonderful woman who works, takes care of her mother and tries her best to maintain a life where no disturbances are allowed. That's until Ciro makes his appearance.

These two were incredible together. Ciro wooed Savannah with everything he had and she pushed and fought back with all she had. Their chemistry was delicious and his confidence, determination and patience was definitely a turn on because Ciro didn't do it to show off. No, he wanted to establish a connection with Savannah. Making her feel desired and comfortable. Getting her to know the real Ciro.
When Ciro's occupation is revealed to Savannah it was handled and depicted with realism. I could easily understand and imagine her feelings and insecurities. Ciro just turned up his yummy factor cause he kept pursuing and fighting for Savannah. I love a man groveling and damn Ciro delivered. He kept surprising me throughout this entire story. Especially with his outlook on his life, job and his love for Savannah.
They're both beautifully layered characters with many nuances and they're slowly peeled off as the story evolves. The secondary characters are awesome and definitely gave me some laughs. The final chapter gave me what I wanted and so much more.

I'm head over heels in love with this book. Sunniva Dee definitely put her twist on the story and characters. I love how she chose to portray Ciro. As a working man who's priority is to protect his woman and separate the two - love and work from one another. It's not an easy task but Sunniva Dee did an excellent and flawless job. Her execution is perfection and prose intoxicating. Bring on the next book.

I 💜 this Porn Star!

"Please forgive
My fuckups
My ragged-up past, my now

description

I flew through this book! I was hooked from the very first page. Ciro was ahh-mazing! He was super hot and exactly what most girls want in a man. Savannah was also perfect. I found myself having the same thoughts and questions she would have. I am a very jealous person so I don't know what I'd have done if I found out my mans career AFTER I'd already fallen in love but I enjoyed Savannahs journey to find out for herself.

I definitely recommend this book and am looking forward to my next Sunniva Dee novel!

When Ciro saw Savanna for the first time, in a restaurant where she works, he was taken by her beauty. He chases Savannah to be his girlfriend but she's having some apprehension especially when she learned that he's an actor, Savanna doubts his sincerity, moreover, he's vague about the kind of movie he did. But Ciro pursued her relentlessly and our heroine just can't help but give in. And Ciro proved to be a great boyfriend, very attentive and he let Savanna feel special. Everything is going so well until Savanna learned that he works in the adult-movie industry. Can Savanna accept her boyfriend’s job? Will she have an open-mind and continue her relationship with Ciro? Or will she break it off with him, because she just can’t take the idea of Ciro being with another woman even though it’s just a job and nothing personal?

Sunniva Dee wrote another sleepless worthy book that will keep you entertained reading the story of Savanna & Ciro. I greatly enjoyed this one and looking forward to reading books written by this author.

I graciously received an ARC copy courtesy of the author in exchange for an honest review.

I was so intrigued by this concept that I one-clicked when I found it on KU. I don’t think it’s a secret from the blurb that he’s a porn star and she’s oblivious for the first half of the book. The tone, IMO, is lighter/less serious, and (secret porn star aside) Ciro is #boyfriendgoals, BUT I wouldn’t recommend to strict safety gangers because there’s deceit. Not malicious deceit, but the h is still blindsided.

I have mixed feelings about it. It was pretty entertaining from a fluffy-smut standpoint, but didn’t have enough substance to keep my attention for 350+ pages, so I skimmed. There’s almost a “silly” feel with his OTT sexuality while she’s giggling, blushing and hiding her face in embarrassment. Along with the “will you be my girlfriend” discussions which is ok, but there was some heavy stuff to wade through, and I can only take about 100-125 pages of fluff.

There’re also many interactions that don’t feel logical. Like her never asking questions, even after she has major doubts. Or the fact she thinks he’s a movie star, but can’t find him anywhere online.

My biggest obstacle was truly getting invested in their love story because the facts provided don’t really add up to love, and the sex/relationship balance was so unbalanced that I felt the lust but not the love. For instance, Add in that every time one of these topics come up they pretty much have sex instead of discussing, and it was hard to “buy in” to their epic love.

I also felt like the pacing was off a bit because we know what's going on, but the h doesn’t until we’re halfway through. So, there’s a lot of sitting around waiting for her to catch up. Then, when she finally finds out there’s a cycle of... some shocking tidbit introduced and almost immediately brushed away with banging. She’s either ignoring him, or having sex…that’s about it. So, I ended up skimming through the repetitive parts.

Bottom Line- I wish this was more serious with some grown-up conversation because there's potential for some really emotional angsty drama. BUT… pretty much every conversation/argument was quickly sidelined because they couldn’t keep their hands off each other. So, I would categorize this as fluff, and I like my fluff less complicated. I’ve read a few books like this where the H was a swinger, or prostitute and I find it tough to straddle the ongoing sleeping with OP while with the h, but it's free to try with KU.

All authors have a distinct style which makes their narrative tone, their voice, unique. Of course Sunniva is no exception to this. Her books have a lead character with an edge, and the other protagonist is the calm counterpoint. That holds true here.

Sav is naive(ish) and easily flustered. Her lack of poise is endearing and completely at odds with Ciro who is smooth and unruffled to the point of frustration.

But this book isn't just the story of boy meets girl. Whilst one could approach this book solely on that level, for me it goes deeper than that. It is provocative in the way in which it challenges what the reader might consider to be a betrayal within the confines of an exclusive relationship. But it is not done in a brash manner; rather it offers a more subtle presentation of an alternative point of view, despite what you might expect from the title.

There is something about this couple which resonated with me. I can't put my finger on the precise reason why. What I can tell you is that Sav's vacillations stayed just on the right side of frustrating and the conclusion was pitched just right.

Simply put, I loved this story.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Let's all sit around and have a talk. What if you met the perfect man? I mean writes you random word poetry, beautiful flowers and always has a sweet compliment on hand. You'd think something is wrong like maybe an extra two toes or he hates puppies. Well Savannah thinks Ciro is perfect but surely something is amiss.

Savannah is the girl who lives by the status quo. Get up and work her 3 jobs and take care of her mom. A mom who needs more supervision than a wayward out of control teenager. She lives with several other people who are very important to her daily life. On the day Ciro walks into the restaurant she is intrigued yet wonders what does this stunning god like man see in her?

Ciro is very....confident yeah lets go with that! He knows he is the most sought after in his business. Yet it's not conventional he doesn't work the nine to five so steady real relationships are hard to come by. He walks into a restaurant one night not intending on running into the awkward yet beautiful Savannah. How does a guy like Ciro land a girl like Savannah?

First off this title made me laugh but once again in true Sunniva Dee fashion this is far from fluffy. Smoldering and sexy and oh so swoonworthy but it has a real life hidden element hidden underneath. You relate with Savannah in all her quirky charm you want to think well i'd be the opposite of her if this was my case but come on we are all insecure messes. I wanted to hate Ciro man I did I wanted to kick him in his junk so he couldn't use it anymore. He was so charming and wonderful and arghhh another book boyfriend contender. Plus he can work it!! Ok ok but seriously I did enjoy this book obviously my only issue was how insanely blind she was to his job which is partly his fault or mainly his fault. The heart wants what the heart wants though. I think everyone should give this gem a try!!

This book. Sunniva Dee has easily cemented herself as an author who writes without abandon. And this book is no different. Her storylines are unparalleled. Her writing, lyrical. But the words of this book? Astound me.

Ciro Silveira is a very confident man. So when he immediately gravitates to Savannah, a woman with so much going on, he’s a bit taken a back. She doesn’t need a boyfriend, but Ciro wants to do everything to change her mind. Enthralling, captivating, their chemistry is simply magical. As much as Savannah is all caught up in the wonderness of Ciro, something feels off. He can’t get enough of her, and he’s devastatingly handsome. But what does he do? Why has he not mentioned anything before? Want to know what happens when she finds out? Read. This. Book.

Ciro and Savannah are magnets. The allure to them and their relationship cannot fully be captured into words. In true Sunniva Dee fashion, she has produced a storyline unlike you’ve ever read. The synopsis doesn’t even capture a fragment of the complexity and originality of the narrative of this story. Despite any conceptions you may have regarding the title, push them all away. The author masterfully depicts an authentic and genuine take on falling in love with someone like Ciro. And all that comes with loving him. The honesty here between them is astonishing. Regardless of his job title, he’s a person first. And he loves deeply. Relentlessly. You are pushed and challenged to see beyond the title and the job occupation, and to truly see into Ciro’s heart. Can we talk about the writing? Candid, sincere, and unfeigned. Defiant in it’s unfolding. Sunniva never follows the rules. And she never has to. This story was told with a conscientious decorum that only this author could truly capture. Poetic in her approach, meticulous in her execution, the author innately and effortlessly weaves a unique and unforgettable story. You are simply seduced by the words of this book.

The Truth About Pornstar Boyfriends was palpable. Even with it’s lighter moments, there was something deep here. An underlying message. One that will keep me thinking about this book and its characters, for DAYS to come. Your heart will beat over Ciro and Savannah’s story. Daring and bold, these are the kinds of stories we need. Blatant and unashamed. The author’s capacity for telling a story with her unequivocal voice does not go unnoticed in this book. Written with such candor and sincerity, this is definitely one of my top reads of 2017.

Given the title and description of this book, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Having read most of this author's previous books, I knew deep down that she would come up trumps. I wasn't wrong!

Savannah works as a waitress besides her two other jobs of dog walking and marketing. She also looks out for her mother. She shares accommodation with an interesting bunch of characters, happy with her way of life.

Ciro is a porn star. Something that he has been involved in from a young age and has learnt to divorce his work from his private life. After all, it's just a job and he's had his fun. Now he wants a normal life, but not many women would settle with someone in his line of work.

Whilst having lunch in the restaurant, Savannah catches his eyes. It's something about her eyes! He asks her out and she doesn't understand why someone like him would be interested in someone like her. She considers herself to be ordinary. He is every woman's dream. They get on really well, but she doesn't want commitments, whereas that's exactly what he wants. He is not easily deterred and he pursues her relentlessly until she relents. The chemistry between them is off the chart, but she doesn't know what he does for a living. She accidentally stumbles upon the evidence of his occupation and she is gutted. How can she have a relationship with someone who earns a living by having sex for an audience? Can they come to a compromise?

I admire Ciro for his caring, protectective and positive attitude. Savannah is fun, loving and hard working. There is a lot of soul searching and emotional disquiet between them. There are some beautiful moments and some agonising ones. Watching two people so much in love struggle to find a happy medium that will give them both what they want is heartrending. The whole thing is wrapped up beautifully! It's certainly different and well worth reading.

I was kindly issued with an eARC from author and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so I get that the title may have you forming certain preconceived notions about this book.

But let me tell you.

This book was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! Sunniva knocked it outta the park. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh!!! I'm still smiling from it, and I stopped reading like an hour ago.

Such a wonderful, low-stress, emotional-at-times contemporary romance...the story itself is like a modern-day fairy tale. I couldn't out it down! I blew through it in 2 sittings.

Oh, and Ciro is totally perfect. Sweet, sexy, compassionate, persistent. loyal...I might be in love with a figment of Sunniva's imagination. Lol!

And Savannah was just awkward enough to be realistic and extremely likable.

Throw in a cast of minor characters that added so much to the book in their own ways, and this is one of those books I will be reading again!

I've been reading Sunniva Dee books for a long time now and I have to admit....this is one of my favorites. I knew from the second I heard the title that this book was going to be good...I just knew it. I love being right!!! LOL These characters had me hooked from the beginning and so did the story. It just flowed so effortlessly. so believably, so completely organically.

CIro was the perfect book boyfriend, he was hot, smart, romantic, attentive...everything a girl could want in a boy. He was too good to be true....literally. You can't help but fall for him. He's genuine and honest to a fault and just a damn good guy....but, you know....porn!!! His profession aside, Ciro was a character that sucked me in, made me feel his emotions and had me rooting for him at every turn. I totally understood Savannah falling for him. I completely understood her not asking that one important question. I REALLY understood everything she did both before and after that one life changing moment. Both characters were real and relatable and completely fleshed out in a way that kept this book from being a novelty and made it a legitimate romance instead.

This book had my emotions all over the place. The tension was thick for me through most of this one. I was on the edge of my seat, so wound up about what was coming. (I love that feeling, like when you're on a roller coaster, at the top of the first big hill, waiting with excitement and dread for the fall. That's how most of this book made me feel.) I was pulling for them as a couple the entire time, but I was also pulling for them as individuals. At different times my heart soared and broke for them both. At times, I really couldn't see how there could be a resolution that would be right and true and fair for both characters. But in true Sunniva fashion, she did the entire story justice with an ending that I never really saw coming. Honestly, one of her best books to date.

5 Non Status Quo Stars for The Truth About Porn Star Boyfriends

The title sounds like one heck of a RomCom follie, and though it definitely has its comedic moments, the story goes far deeper than your typical RomCom tropes.

Savannah...I could identify with her on more levels than I care to admit. She followed her mom to California, because someone needed to keep an eye on her. She is a young woman, just trying to keep it all together, working three jobs and living with several roommates, and dreading middle of the night phone calls from mom. One day a particularly um, drool worthy, customer has a meeting at her restaurant job, and a connection is made. He's a bit older than her, very good looking, charming and wealthy. He admits he is successful in his field and that he is an actor. He wants to spend some time getting to know her before he shows her some of his movies.

He showers he with flowers, poetry, attention, affection, and when he is able to calmly talk mom out of one of her impulsive 4 am decisions without tears or drama.....really, how much more perfect could he be? I don't want to go into spoiler territory, but the entire situation with her mother was a bit too familiar to me, and I may have loved Ciro most for the way he handled every aspect of The Mom Show, especially easing Savannah into the reality of her mom's situation.

Okay, I will admit that I am not the most conventional of women, and probably, okay, definitely old enough to be Savannah's mom, so my view on Ciro's career is going to be a bit different from most. I actually felt really bad for him. He was trying so hard to find someone to love him for Ciro, rather than his screen name and personality. Did he make some mistakes? Of course! He's human, and he's a guy. And he's spent most of his adult life living large in Hollywood. Not the best set up for realism, yet he sincerely seems to be pretty grounded.

Love, love, love this book! Sunniva Dee always brings such unique twists to her books and characters. I have quickly found her writing style to be absolutely irresistible, and it just keeps getting better and better! Highly recommended for adult audiences.

**POSIBLES SPOILERS**

“I am exclusive with you.”
“I’ve always been exclusive with you. My heart, my mind, my thoughts. They’re all with you even when my body works for a living.”

No sé si soy yo la del problema pero ¿cómo es posible entregar tu cuerpo a otra persona sin ser infiel a tu pareja?

3. Savannah se niega a aceptar una relación con él porque, en sus palabras:
What normal girl in this universe can accept the way he shares himself?

This was a little bit harder for me to rate than other books by Sunniva Dee but in a good way. It was different than her other stories, less intense but in no way lacking. I went back and forth between irritation with Ciro and respect for Savannah to respecting Ciro and being irritated with Savannah!

In the beginning Ciro made me uncomfortable - he was just too smooth, too bold, too sure of himself. I kept thinking "I would never spend time with this man how can Savannah stand it?" Then I remembered the reason I felt that way was because I knew Ciro's secret and Savannah didn't. After a while the things that had made me uncomfortable are the things that made Ciro endearing to me.

SMALL SPOILER (not really because you figure she has to find out): I loved that the reveal comes when it does and not in the last few chapters of the book to be quickly and neatly tied up with a happy ending. Savannah's reaction to the news was perfect as was the struggle she had within herself. Ciro's explanations actually won me over to where I was actually thinking "I could do this, I could be with a porn star if he loved me as much as Ciro loves Savannah". It is great credit to the author that she made Savannah very real and relatable in an impossible situation while making the reader want to throw out all caution because at the same time Sunniva Dee made Ciro so honest yet complex.

I was fully in agreement with so much of Savannah's inner dialogue yet the glimpses inside Ciro made me able to rationalize his side of things too. What great writing, these characters took me on a roller coaster of emotions.

I read mainly romance, but this was my first book with a porn star as one of the main characters. I was intrigued and wasn't sure what to expect. I don't like books with cheating, but this book didn't give me those cheating vibes. I loved Ciro, the porn star, and he seems like such a good guy. Seriously, the perfect boyfriend, except for his job. I think his situation was explained well, and I found myself so wrapped up in this book and fell so in love with Ciro. I was rooting for him all the way! Anyways, awesome book. I will likely be reading this one again. It's different to me, and I really loved it.

I did receive an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review, but it didn't alter my opinion in any way.

With a title like that and that blurb how could you not want to read this???

I was so engrossed with this book, I literally didn't adult once I started reading it. I was falling in love while these two fell in love with each other. I almost bit my nails waiting for Savannah to find out what he did for a living.

He was so amazing with Savannah and her mom and I knew it was going to break my heart when she found out. He was so sweet!!! He did have a way with trying to rush through the dating part of the relationship but he has his reasons which you'll find out. Oh lord, you know with a title like this that the sex was going to be HOTTTT and it so was!!!

I could see Ciro's side of "it was just a job" but I could also see Savannah's side of the argument. The author did a fantastic job of showing both sides!! I needed to know how this book ended. I was like HOW are they going to get past this?

So good!

This is the 3rd book of this type I've read (angsty with a porn star, not straight erotica) and this one was so good! I really liked them all but this one might be my favorite. Maybe because savannah's reactions and decisions felt so realistic? I'm not sure but the writing was very good and I loved the characters. Highly recommend!

Great book.

This is my first book from Sunnyvale that I have read. I loved it. Wasn't sure how I was going to like the storyline once Savannah learned the truth about Ciro. Can't wait for the next book!

This is the Sunniva Dee book that you didn't see coming.

This author likes to take risks, not only in her writing style, but also with the book's content. Nothing is cut and dry for her and nothing is off-limits. That's what intrigues me so much about her books. I don't know what's coming or what she'll come up with next.

When I first read this title, my cheeks flushed. At just the title! I mean, come on. Really? Seriously? I was hesitant to say the least. But I read it, because it's a Sunniva Dee novel, and I've read them all. She hasn't let me down so far, so...

First off, let me just say that I've noticed some reviews on this book and other books of this author's that haven't been too excited about the writing style. I get that. Everyone has their own unique style, and Sunniva Dee is no different. In fact, it's one of the reasons I keep coming back to her books. Her style is so unique. I read a lot, always have, and I've never, ever encountered another author who writes quite like Ms. Dee. Yeah, I can see where it takes a little bit to get used to and it may not be for everyone. But, again, I love it. Her words, her sentence structure, her paragraphs flow so nicely and so perfectly together, enhancing the characters and plotline.

Okay, back to what I was saying. This book. The author weaves this story in a way that was not as bad as I originally thought. LOL. Sounds funny, doesn't it? But it wasn't what I was expecting, especially from the title. The reader knows from the beginning what Ciro does for a living, but Savannah doesn't. Part of me wanted to yell and scream at her. Okay, so all of me wanted to do that. But I also wondered if that was because I KNEW. I kind of wonder what my reading experience would have been like had I not known. Would I have still wanted to slap some sense into her? Or would I have empathized more?

This book is ultimately about Savannah's struggle. She's in love with him, but that happens before she found out what he does. I mean, I know it would be a big, huge NO from me. No way. Not even close. But it was interesting to read what Savannah was going through. How she handled the information, how she perceived the situations, and how she came to the conclusion she came to. You don't have to agree with her (I didn't), but it sure makes for a good story!

One more quick thing before I go. Because I've read all of Ms. Dee's books, and not a single person has mentioned this, and I think it's significant. Sunniva Dee writes pets like they are actual characters. They have feelings and quirks and attitude. They become as real as the H and h. That's a huge testament, IMO, to the author's skills. I want the dog in this book. I want all the pets in all of her books! Because she writes them so, so well.

I've not read anything by this author, I was drawn to it because of the subject matter. The heroine starts dating this really hot guy. He never talks about himself but plays the perfect boyfriend to her, he's a good listener, sends her flowers and is considerate towards her. Then she discovers he's a porn star.

This wasn't a particularly well written book in my opinion, the two lead characters are not well fleshed out. She's a little flakey and lacks confidence, while he's very quick with an answer for everything. I think that's what annoyed me about him the most, the hundred and one reasons he had for justifying having sex for a living, and it was only cheating if your emotions were involved. The heroine turned into the biggest doormat once she found out the truth about him, that was particularly irritating. But all this didn't affect me at all as both lead characters had nil chemistry and lacked any connection whatsoever. So instead of a heartfelt emotional and turbulent read that I was expecting this was not very well done and came cross as quite shallow.

I liked it. Its just that I never truly felt the love between the MC's. Ciro was a little too intense for me at times.

What I really liked about this book is that it made me think and question myself. What would I do in a situation like that? I personally can't imagine being in a relationship with a porn star but I can understand why some people do. This book showed us that they are regular people that have a very unconventional job. Still, to be in a relationship with one can't be easy. I think what I needed was for their relationship to be stronger to make it staying together believable.

Overall I did enjoy this book, it just fell a little short for me.

This book... seriously. First off the title intrigued me. Then I read the blurb and was even more intrigued. When I finally opened it? I couldn't put it down. I wanted to know what was gonna happen between Ciro and Savannah and I didn't want to wait! Savannah was back and forth. Normally that would have irritated me, but in this book I SO understood her hesitation. I understood her fears, moral beliefs, heart-felt feelings; I understood her. Ciro was interesting, he was unique. He knew what he wanted and wasn't afraid to go after it until he got it. He was also irritating at times. He understood his world and the way he did things. He understood how he handled things to the point that he didn't realize what he was doing until AFTER he had hurt Savannah. He is every woman's wet dream, every woman's dream man, he is perfect in his own unique ways. But because of his confidence and his understanding point of view he is also able to bring out every female insecurity without even trying. My heart was torn so much in this book but I just couldn't stop reading. The secondary character's were amazing as well. They really helped not only bond Ciro and Savannah (especially when it came to Ana and Savannah's mom) but the love and devotion they had for Savannah in her times of need were just perfectly written. I've only read a few books by this author but each book seems to get better and better. This book is by far my favorite from Sunniva Dee. I'm now looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Thanks for the preview! I voluntarily read and advanced copy for an honest review.

I read a blurb about this book. I was intrigued. Then I received a chance to throw my name out there and perhaps receive an ARC in exchange for a review. I jumped at that chance, and I’m glad I did. I was chosen to receive an ARC! Here is my honest review. This is my first time reading this author. I do have another of her books, but I have not read it, yet. That will change. I totally enjoyed reading The Truth About Porn Star Boyfriends. Take one confident, world-weary porn star who is seeking his “forever love.” Have him fall head-over-heels for a beautiful, girl-next-door-type with your basic female insecurities who is just struggling to keep her life on an even keel. Toss in the fact that he doesn’t bother to tell her what he does for a living until she’s “hooked” on everything him, creating major chaos for her in her normal, morally-correct life and mind, and you have one fun, sexy, sweet read. The main characters, Ciro and Savannah, were interesting and endearing . Their friend circle was eclectic, funny and likable. The author blended their worlds with a smoothness that seemed normal and natural. The characters’ growth from beginning to end was palpable. I spent most of the second half of this book hoping, wishing, praying for their happily-ever-after. All-around, The Truth About Porn Star Boyfriends was a feel-good, engaging read for me. Grab it when it releases and treat yourself to an enjoyable reading adventure!
