The Audiotheque, a 45-seat recording-performance space at 942 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, is housed within ArtCenter/South Florida and directed by sound artist Gustavo Matamoros. Audiotheque, whose umbrella organization is the South Florida Composers Alliance, offers a variety of programs centered around experimental music and sound art.
"We have really good people here in town. This is why we're doing the Marathon every year, because there’s actually music to play and music to listen to. The ArtCenter is our friend, but we’re still courting each other. That means we have to strengthen the relationship. The vision is to set up a research center for sound art here at the ArtCenter, and that way all kinds of things can happen along that idea."
