Avalanche and safety concerns due to a gas leak in Copper Mountain. I-70 Closed between

Frisco and Vail, mm 201 - 176. Expect long delays. Eastbound alt. route: Exit 171, US 24 to CO

91. All eastbound CMV must stage at Dotsero, Exit 133.

US 550 Northbound / Southbound Red Mountain Pass (Milemarker 71-94) Road closed, due to

Avalanche. There is no estimated time of reopening. US 550 Coal Bank Pass and Molas Pass

remain open.

"Xcel energy is reporting that a gas facility along Hwy 91 from Copper to Leadville has been

damaged by a possible avalanche. More information will follow once an assessment is

completed. In addition, there are 38 power outages being reported throughout Colorado with

1,785 customers without power. The largest of these is in the Frisco area where 1,427 are being

impacted. Utility crews have been dispatched to restore power. Not ETA at this time "
