Dragons among them Kyra Jacobs:

Dragons Among Them is the very first book in the brand new series Kingdom of Fire and Ice by Kyra Jacobs. This is also the first book I have read by Ms. Jacobs. This book was generously provided to me in exchange for an honest review by the author.

The first thing I want to say about this book is, lets just all take a moment and stare at the cover. “Sigh.” That is what first drew me to this one. I couldn’t help but to be captured by that image of the woman encircled in the protection of her dragon.

 photo tumblr_mk337tmdjv1r8epnko1_400_zps19313c69.gif

Adelaide (Addie) Miller has always had an eye for the camera. It was her escape from her not so wonderful life growing up. Now she is ready to start her career. She secured a sports photo shoot in England so she spent everything she had to obtain the plane ticket. This will be her big break. To calm her nerves the day before the shoot she goes for a run. But a swerving car sends her careening down a hill. The woods she finds herself in don’t look at all familiar and while trying to find her way back to the road, she finds herself surrounded by a pack of very hungry looking wolves. But, before they have a chance to make her their midday snack, a huge golden dragon swoops in and saves her.

 photo blackwolf_zps7faecc94.gif

Prince Zayne Godfrey of Edana is the only child to the King and Queen. Edana has been at war with Forath for as long as he can remember. In order to secure peace between the kingdoms, Zayne has been betrothed to the only daughter of the King of Forath. This is a forced marriage, there are no feelings involved. Princess Rosalind is actually a very cold, calculating woman and Zayne fears it will only be a matter of time until his heart hardens as well. But it is his duty to secure peace for his people. He is out hunting when he hears the scream. When he sees the woman surrounded by wolves, the change is instantaneous. Zayne changes into a beautiful golden dragon. What he can’t understand is that the change has never come upon him before without him causing it. This was instant. But then one look at him by the beautiful maiden with the flowing blond hair and she fainted dead away.

fire breathing dragon:

Addie has no idea where she is when she awakens. This foreign place has no electricity, they wear strange clothing and speak in a strange way. And Addie seems just as strange to them with her attire and very strange looking slippers (running shoes.) But Addie and Zayne are drawn together, whether they like it or not.

“Addie was the sun that warmed his cool heart, the air that breathed life into his very soul.”

“He must save her.
He must protect her.
He must have her.”

With every story there must be a villain and this book has a doozy. Rosalind, Princess of Forath. Rosalind wants one thing and one thing only, power. She will do whatever she has to do to get what she wants. Right now she wants the peasant maiden that seems to have captured her betrothed’s attention dead.

dragon over castle:

I really fell in love with this book. The connection between Addie and Zayne was so cute. He is entranced by her and her beautiful spirit. Still, though, he vows to help her to find her way home. But the powers that be have something else in mind as things don’t happen the way they were planned. The more time these two spend together, the harder it will be for them to say good-bye.

horse and woman gif

There are plenty of twists and surprises as well. As the story progresses, the author completely took me by surprise. By the end of the book, you will completely understand everything. You just have to be patient. This is one of those books that just vividly unfolds in your imagination as you go along. I saw Addie with Will, Zayne’s beautiful white horse, I could see the kingdoms, the field of clover, and I could see the dragons. I loved the way that Addie accepted everything and the way she loved all the new sights and experiences. It didn’t take long for her to capture the heart of others in the kingdom as well.

This is a fast paced book that is sure to keep you flipping the pages as quickly as you can. I can’t wait for the next book in the series, Dragons Against Them which is due out just three months after the first book. What a great start into this brand new world. I can’t wait to see what is in store for Zayne and Addie next.

Dragons Among Them was a quick insta-love story.

Adelaide has spent her life behind a camera not really feeling like she fits in. While in England she falls down the proverbial rabbit hole and finds herself in a place she doesn’t recognize.

Zayne, dragon shifter and heir apparent to Kingdom of Edana is betrothed to the princess of Forath. While out hunting he stumbles upon Adelaide and finds himself besieged in sensations so foreign he loses control and the dragon takes over.

The story follows the traditional fairy tale where the prince finds a young maiden in trouble. Then he finds himself falling for her and vise versa, but they can’t be together; because of obligations, etc.. It’s not original, but it’s a fantasy world with dragons, wizards, and magic. It’s got some mystery, betray, and an insta-love romance with a surprise twist at the end.

I didn’t overly care for Dragons Among Them. It was a good read, but didn’t leave an impression.

Some things that I had issues with:
• Adelaide is given enough clues to figure out that she’s no longer in her world, yet she doesn’t figure this out until much later in the story. This made her dumb.
• They, Adelaide and Zayne, have sex within a day and half of meeting each other. To quick for my liking.
• We get more then 80 pages in and we still don’t have an explanation as to why the two kingdoms aren’t getting along and war might break out if the arranged marriage doesn’t go through. I can’t remember if we find out why they dislike each other. This might be one of the things revealed at the end.

The background for the characters and world needing more flushing out. Adelaide and Zayne didn’t impress nor leave an impression on me. They where just their. The story felt rushed and focused on the attraction between the lead characters then anything else. As for the magic their was very little and I felt it need more magic added into the story.

What I liked:
• I liked the alternate world mirroring ours hidden away with magic.
• I liked the dragons, magic, and meddling wizard.

Dragons Among Them was just an ok read.

Dragons Among Them is the second book I've read by Kyra Jacobs in as many weeks and, having enjoyed her contemporary romance, I had fairly high expectations for the first book in her Kingdoms of Fire and Ice series. I abso-bloody-lutely loved it and from the moment I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down.

description

“Forgive me, I’m terrible with UK geography. Is that north or south of Watford, Hertfordshire?”

In one breath, Adelaide Miller is happily discovering the English countryside, and in the next, she finds herself in a medieval place where there's royalty and wizards and dragons who come to your rescue when you're in a bit of a sticky situation. And I admit, part of the reason I loved this was down to the fact I fell head-over-heels in swooning, sighing love with Prince Zayne Godfrey of Edana.

description

The actual story is fast-paced and gripping with a darker storyline developing amongst the enchanting romance. Every one of the secondary characters plays an important part and with Zayne's tyrant of a father determined he will marry the villainous Princess Rosalind of Forath, he is torn between his heart and his kingdom.

"He must save her.
He must protect her.
He must have her."

Addie and Zayne were a pleasure to read; she the endearing strong heroine who brings her own brand of fire, to his gentle protector with a very sexy-side. And their chemistry was perfect, bringing fight, passion and tender moments.

description

Filled with thrills, surprises, twists, humour and passion, Kyra Jacobs brings the kingdoms of Edana and Forath to life for her reader. I can't wait to return and discover how things unfold.

Dragons Among Them was a highly imaginative dragon shifter fantasy.

Modern day photographer, Adelaide is transported to another realm where life is much more medieval. Dragons shifters walk this realm and Zayne just happens to be a prince to one of their lands.

A plot against Zayne’s kingdom of Edana threatens to destroy the peace Zayne’s family is hopeful to secure, while Adelaide’s presences disrupts the arranged marriage between Zayne and a princess from the land they wish to secure with Zayne’s marriage.

I am a huge shifter reading fan and dragons happen to be one of my favorite shifting topics. I found Jacobs take very unique and interesting but I did feel the relationship between Zayne and Adelaide was pretty much insta-love.

Magic, mayhem and mishaps all make for enjoyable reading but the searing and sweltering chemistry lights up pages with passion.

I received this ARC copy of Dragons Among Them from Samhain Publishing in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication April 19, 2016.

5 - A life for a life. Stars!

Sometimes a book comes out of left-field, slaps you round the head, and leaves you with an unexpected book hangover. Dragons Among Them is a book I wholeheartedly put into that category, and I cannot wait to read more from this series.

Not really sitting in any one genre, the story has element of PNR and Fantasy about it, moving between modern day Britain and the Kingdoms of Edana and Forath. Dragons, wizards and magic are abound, and when Adelaide Miller suddenly stumbles through a portal into the realm whilst out jogging one morning, she gets more than a few shocks and surprises.

"There are things lurking in the neighboring woods far more dangerous than I."

Immediately cornered by a pack of wolves Addie is then rescued by a dragon, not your normal everyday occurrence when out for a jog in leafy Watford. Little does she know that the Dragon is actually Prince Zayne Godfrey, heir to the throne of Edana, and that they are both part of a much bigger and more elaborate plan.

"I’m nothing in your world…"

"You’re everything in my world."

Told from various points of view, this is a story that pulls you in, there is more than just the forbidden love aspect building between Zayne and Addie, being promised to a Princess from the neighboring kingdom of Forath, puts a little bit of a spanner in the relationship growing between him and Addie. But treachery is also afoot, with other enemies trying to bring about his downfall, and possibly war between the kingdoms.

Add in a meddlesome mother, a mysterious wizard and a whole host of interesting plot twists and Kyra Jacobs managed to keep me on my toes pretty much up until the end of the book.

"You have a pure heart… ’Tis a rare and beautiful quality, and not one I often encounter."

The beauty of this story is in the reading and discovering it for yourself, I don’t want to say much more for fear of giving away anything important. But if you are looking for something a little different, really entertaining, with plenty of sexy-times and a bit of intrigue and mystery, then
Dragons Among Them certainly ticks all of those boxes.

"You had to go and pick yourself a meek one."

There is a huge amount of scope with this series, and I am interested to see where the author takes us next with the next book in the Kingdoms of Fire and Ice series; Dragons Against Them is due in August, and I am really looking forward to continuing the adventure.

ARC generously provided via Netgalley, and it was my absolute pleasure to provide the above honest review.

The only thing better than a rock solid, twisty-turvy fantasy romance is to add dragons! Given I knew going in that Kyra's book would have both, I was pretty sure I'd enjoy it, but WHOA...what a ride. All the earmarks fantasy romances lovers look for are there--travel between realms, suspensful plots, waring kingdoms, and sweeping romance! Oh, did I mention DRAGONS? And a gold one at that.

As for the romance, the story between Addie and Zayne was beautiful. I love the fact that their romance was less about conjured emotional angst between the two of them, and more a case of the two of them against the world. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how this series continues and watching for other fantasy/paranormal titles from Kyra.

"Dragons Among Them" is the first installment in Kyra Jacobs’ series, The Kingdoms of Ice and Fire. As a person with eyes, I was completely drawn in by the cover, (isn’t it gorgeous?) and was really looking forward to reading this book. I had read and enjoyed Jacobs’ introduction to the contemporary Checkerberry Inn series, but it was so different from this that I was definitely curious if she could pull off fantasy and dragons.

The Story- Adelaide (love the name) is a photographer who falls through time and space into another world where she encounters Prince Zaine, who also happens to be a dragon shifter. She is immediately in danger, and he is driven to protect her, even if it means threatening an alliance-driven engagement.

My Thoughts- I had a little trouble getting into this book, even though I was excited about it. I actually read the first quarter or so, then put it down for a couple months. I’m not sure what made it difficult to connect with in the beginning, but I am so glad that I picked it back up. As soon as I got past an unexpected twist of a sort, it was smooth sailing and I devoured the rest.

The Good- I love time travel/trapped in another world books. There is something about finding someone in a place that you never expected that I really enjoy. Adelaide is a fun character, and her reactions to her new world are just right. I loved the wizard and his interactions with just about everyone. He is a great character that I hope to see more of in upcoming books. The setting and world-building was interesting, but I hope for more of that in the future as well. Each bit of lore or backstory added to the current story immensely. The dragon element was fun without being forced and raises some questions about how the dragons fit into this world. Are new shifter dragons being born?

The Bottom Line- This is a nice start to a series, but does leave some unanswered questions that I look forward to being resolved. It is definitely worth the read. I give Dragons Among Them 4 stars due to the slow start and desire for answers to world-building questions. Ms. Jacobs can absolutely pull off fantasy and dragons.

When I saw that one of my favorite authors Juliette Cross gave DRAGONS AMONG THEM 5 stars, I knew I had to read it.

It was easy to connect emotionally with Adelaide. The world she finds herself in is definitely hard for her to believe, but she makes it work for her while also trying to find a way home. I liked how Adelaide was able to connect with the secondary characters in DRAGONS AMONG THEM and win them over even though they weren't very fond of her in the start. There is just something about her that you can't help but like and want to get to know. Zayne is extremely loyal and very protective. It's not hard to imagine why Adelaide would fall for him.

The romance between Adelaide and Zayne had a lot of ups and downs, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. They are highly attracted and drawn to each other, but Adelaide expects to go back home to her world and Zayne has an obligation to his family and kingdom to marry another. They don't stay away from each other long, but there are a lot of up and down feelings on both sides.

DRAGONS AMONG THEM started off the Kingdoms of Fire and Ice series well. I'm hoping that future books will continue to follow Zayne and Adelaide, but either way I look forward to reading more.

As an editor friend of Kyra's, I had the pleasure of being able to read this story while it will still being considered for publication. Many, many books go through my hands, but I have to tell you this story is fantastic. Of course, one of my favorite genres is fantasy and one of my favorites creatures are dragons. But beyond that, Miss Jacobs has taken the time to build a world for us to submerge ourselves and a great storyline to keep you captivated. Well done!

This book is one big fairytale and I loved it! While reading this, I was also trying to visualize how it will play on my TV. The curse will only be broken by true love with the half sister as the evil character. Plus, the golden scale dragon is the best in this book. Can't wait to read book 2.

4 Stars - 3 Flames

Well THAT was unexpected. Although I read the blurb, I must say that I was truly surprised by how at ease I felt reading about two characters from different worlds coming together and falling in love. This is also the first Dragon book I've read that ACTUALLY FREAKING HAD DRAGONS (Yep, I said it). How could I have missed reading books with Dragons? They are amazing!!!

Addie is a photographer from our world who literally falls down the rabbit's hole to find herself surrounded by a pack of hungry wolves ready to attack. It's a good thing that her knight in shining armor (Dragon) was near by and heard her calls of help. And what does a that knight do? He swoops in and saves the damsel in distress, of course. And all of this within the first chapter...and so the story begins.

Zayne (AKA knight in shining armor) is betrothed to the neighboring countries Princess in order to restore peace between the two. The catch? He doesn't like her and to be completely honest, she's just using him and doesn't like him either. So when Zayne "rescues" Addie in the forrest, feeling guilty about finding her attractive wasn't an issue. However, finding her WAS an issue that sets off a string of events that will pull you closer and closer to finding out why she fell down that rabbit hole in the first place.

I really enjoyed this read. There were a few scenes in particular that were my favorite which all revolved around Addie and Zayne being by themselves, getting to know each other. Let's just say that I want a ride! If you enjoy PNR, Fantasy and escaping to another world, you'll love this!

Wow, just wow! This is a book that you MUST put on your to-be-read list. I am so honored to have had the opportunity to BETA read this! This is a most deserved 5 star rating as I typically do not read books about Princes and far-away lands and I honestly had reservations about agreeing to read this. But, once I started, I was sooooo hooked! I love this and plan to have my mom, family and friends read it. Cannot wait for the rest of the series! Awesome job Kyra!

Dragons Among Them

Here is an adult fairy tale story filled with dragons, a modern day Damsel, and her Prince. Neither fights the attraction for each other which leads to some hot and detailed forest romps. This is written in a simple easy to follow manner.

"In a single day, the mysterious woodland nymph had stolen his heart."

So, this book had a major case of insta-love. I am not a fan of insta-love, so I didn't enjoy the romance in this book as much as I wanted to. I think I would have liked this book better if there wasn't insta-love. I think a slow burning romance would have worked a lot better for the plot.

I couldn't believe the romantic connection between Addie and Zayne. They had a ton of chemistry, which lead to some steamy scenes, but I felt like that is all they had. There were some cute and romantic moments between Addie and Zayne, but they were a little hard to believe at times. Most of the "romantic" scenes felt cheesy to me. I hope their relationship develops more throughout the series.

The plot of this book was interesting, even though some chapters dragged a bit. I liked the idea of there being multiple worlds. Zayne's medieval world really intrigued me. I would have liked to learn more about it, because I felt like the world building was kind of lacking. I have a feeling there will be more world building in book two, which I am looking forward to. The aspect of dragon shifters was exciting and unique. I haven't read a lot of books about dragon shifters, so I had fun time reading about that. I would also like to learn more about that in book two. I think the author did a great job of holding my interest in the fantasy aspect of this book.

The characters in this book were fine. I didn't love them or hate them. Addie seemed to be a bit of a Mary Sue, which was a little annoying. Other than that, I had no problems with Addie. She was kind and very thoughtful, which I admired. Zayne was loyal and protective. He definitely made me swoon a few times. However, I didn't think he was extremely memorable. He was your typical alpha male. I didn't dislike him, but he wasn't anything special either. I would like to see some more character development for Zayne and Addie in book two.

Overall, I thought this was a fun read. I wish the insta-love romance wouldn't have been as prominent so there could have been more room for world building. However, the dragon shifter aspect was interesting, and I applaud author for her creativity. I think this is a series that will get better with each book, and I am excited to see that happen.

Readers who know anything about me, know I have a soft spot for dragons. They are my absolute favorite shifter to read and I’ve been known to devour entire series in a weekend if given the chance. New to me authors always come with a touch of uncertainty when I pick up a book, but when I find one who has the talent, who brings the “A” game, I feel the need to tell everyone. Kyra Jacobs is that author.

Addie has found herself in unfamiliar territory after nearly getting run over by a car, then falling down an embankment and twisting her ankle in a foreign land. Saved from wolves by something she can only describe as a large golden dragon, she awakes in a house, a time, nothing like her own. Soon she’s at the center of two lands on the brink of war and falling in love with a man, a dragon, who is already betrothed to another.

If you’re a reader who loves dragons and who loves Outlander, Dragons Among Them is definitely a book you need to pick up. Addie, though in a time and place nothing like her hometown in Indiana, is a strong heroine who doesn’t bow to anyone. She’s outspoken and funny and puts Zayne in his place at every given opportunity. I adored her. Acclimating to such a time would be difficult for anyone, but she does an incredible job of not being a whiny, helpless female.

Being betrothed to a woman he does not love, Zayne finds himself at odds over the adorably feisty Addie. His dragon has no problem calling her his mate and calling on his protective nature to keep her safe from those in the feuding kingdoms who wish her harm. He’s smart, he’s gentle and he’s exactly what the lonely Addie has been wishing for. He was the perfect mix of alpha male and gentle nurturer. Sexy and strong, Zayne is a hero a reader can root for. Gah, I just loved him and all his dragon-y goodness!

For a reader who generally dislikes anything remotely historical, I found myself hooked from page one all the way to the happily ever after. Not a single sentence of this one was boring or didn’t keep me interested and engaged in every way. Sheer perfection.

Inventive, original and entertaining, Dragons Among Them will leave readers chomping at the bit for more from this author!

I give Dragons Among Them by Kyra Jacobs 4.50 stars!

It's not like I didn't like this book but...it wasn't what I'd call the novel of the century. I started it expecting something, and found myself with a handful of meh moments more often than I'd liked, instead. I kept struggling to get through certain passages even tho I was curious about how the story was evolving; in this case, I'm not proud to admit, most of the times, boredom won over curiosity.
Sure, the idea was nice, the time travel factor in particular, and the writing was mostly colloquial and fluent (not gonna lie, I really did like the description of the dragons), but I felt like it was too rushed and too focused on the attraction between the characters (insomuch that sometimes this whole 'I need to get into your pants right freaking now' thing resulted almost annoying), when it could have used some more magic. And I'm talking about the literal kind.
Now, I'm definitely not a prude since I'd give both my pinkies for well-written scenes where the sexual tension is palpable and seeeeexy, as a hopeless romantic I also enjoy a healthy dose of sappiness and people making googly eyes at each other when it's required, and I definitely do fancy a hot dragon Prince now and then, but I'd have gladly traded some steamy lust-centered moments for a couple more fantasy-oriented ones.
Again, not exactly a distateful reading, just not my cup of tea.

Addie ends up in an unknown place during a running incident. She doesn’t know she’s entered a completely different world, ruled by dragons and filled with magic. Before wolves can rip her apart an impressive man rescues her, turns into a dragon and flies away with her. Zayne is a prince and choosing to take Addie puts his kingdom Edana in danger. While he’s escaping with the woman he tries to protect, his rivaling neigbors attack him. Zayne is supposed to marry their princess and bring peace to the people in both kingdoms, but with his instant feelings for Addie he has complicated the situation. Can he prevent a war and what is the price he’ll have to pay if he succeeds?

Addie has no idea where she is. She wants to go back home and especially misses modern conveniences. However, in her own world she doesn’t have Zayne and he’s someone she loves to spend time with. Because of Zayne she actually starts to like her new surroundings, but not everyone is happy with her arrival and even for a short few moments together they need to go against the rules and fight for what they believe in. Do Addie and Zayne have a chance or will the difficult political situation, an evil plot to destroy them and life changing events of the past keep them apart?

Dragons Among Them is an entertaining story. Addie is a strong woman. She’s a survivor and fights for what she believes in. She ends up in a different world, while not knowing of its existence and bravely tries to adjust and be part of it. Zayne is helping her to learn about his home. I loved his protective nature. He’s a kind dragon, a true warrior with a good heart. I liked that combination a lot. There’s plenty of chemistry between Addie and Zayne, sparks fly off the pages. They have an instant connection and I was curious to find out where that would lead.

Kyra Jacobs has a fabulous imagination. I really enjoyed reading about the world she’s created. Because Addie is an American girl she describes Zayne’s kingdom and its customs by focusing on contrasts and that works very well. It’s a fun concept and combines well with a magical love story. Dragons Among Them is captivating, alluring, hot and gripping. I really liked this enchanting story.

I came across this book on a site that I love called NetGalley , where readers can get an advance digital copy of a book before its published. Authors get honest feedback about their book before publishing. As always I would like to say I am not reviewing this book on behalf of any publishing group or company. I was not compensated for this review; this is my honest review of a free book I received.

Dragons among them by Kyra Jacobs starts off in the voice of the protagonist Adelaide Miller a budding photographer from the US who is on a trip in England for a career making photo- shoot and to escape her troubled childhood. She is on a quest of rebirth and she stumbles into a time warp where men can turn into dragons, witches and wizards are real and all people can hope for is to survive the day.

The action starts right away, one moment you are in the head of Adelaide and a split second later the reader is whisked into the medieval world of two warring kingdoms Edana and Forath. Ms. Jacobs has a gift for description, I never had a fictional romance take me on a journey into a world I never knew existed in such a quick and masterful way. The author gave little information but yet I felt Adelaide’s fears and I was emotionally invested from start to finish.

The plot was a smooth web of fictional greatness, the author trusted the readers with pieces to the puzzle that is Edana and Forath. This story although travelled back in time,is a great example of the human condition, no matter how many technological advances we have in the modern world, things aren’t that different from the past. Adelaide was from a different time and even a different country, yet she encountered modern-like problems disguised in medieval times.

The only problem I had with the book was I felt as though the end came together too easily, based on the conflict, it should have been more difficult. The author should have planted a little more evidence in the beginning to seal the deal. In conclusion this book was a suspense-filled, action-packed romance that transcends time. I enjoyed reading this book and I look forward to other books from this author.

This is a fast paced book that will have readers enjoying this brand new world of dragons with many surprise twists. It has betrayal, suspense, mystery, and romance. The magic and fantasy story made reading very easy to connect with Adelaide and Zayne.

The villain in this book was great, she rock. The imagination of the kingdoms as it unfold was a wonderful adventure.

A fun, fun read! Loved Zayne, and Addie was a great protagonist with just the right amount of attitude. The humor was a perfect touch. Reading this was a great way to end the night.

It's a cute story💕
Addie is a relatable MC who desperately tries to believe that she's been thrown into a cult or perhaps a dream, anything to affirm her faith that everything will soon be back to normal and she'll soon be back home in England getting paid for her gig🤣
Zayne is a charming, hot prince/dragon (pun intended!) He finds Addie fighting wolves with pepper spray and immediately, is overcome with the urge to save her. Afterwards, it's hilarious to see how both are strong in denying what the other says is real🤣 They soon fall in insta lust which then proceed to become love.
Thankfully Addie isn't a weak protagonist and Zayne isn't an alpha asshole! Their world is very easy to understand. I'd love to see more of the hidden romance between the queen and the wizard😉 That twist at the end was a shocker and pretty convenient, if you ask me!!
There is a lot of steam, but the author does give us fair warning before we begin! The best part of the book is how we have both modern English and old English blending well into the dialogues😁
There is no real danger or adventure, so I'd suggest this book when you want a light read with cute romcom and plenty of steam🔥

So, this book took be quite a bit to read because it failed to grasp my attention from the beginning. And then, BAM! Insta-love. The love came out of no where and it is a trope I cannot stand in my romance novels. I enjoy fleshed out relationships and this book did not have that.

Did I enjoy the dragons? HECK YA! I love dragons and I though Jacobs did them really well. Overall, it was a fun read but I wish the author tried out a slow-burning love story for this couple as I think it would have worked out better.
