 WHO WE ARE:

Dancing Classrooms Northeast Ohio (DCNEO) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was formed in 2008 with the purpose of implementing the project Dancing Classrooms into the school-day curriculum at participating schools throughout Northeast Ohio.  DCNEO works to improve the educational experience of children through our project, Dancing Classrooms, a 10 week - 20 session program for 5th and 8th grade children.  We intend that our program will produce tangible progress of increased attendance, decreased dropout rates, and increased social skills, self-confidence and overall academic performance, while fostering maturity and respect.

Dancing Classrooms is not about teaching ballroom dancing.  The dance is the tool for getting children to break down social barriers, learn about honor and respect, treat others carefully, improve self-confidence, communicate and cooperate, and accept others even if they are different.  At the very core of the Dancing Classrooms philosophy (the Dulaine Method) is the essentail respect that goes into being a Lady and being a Gentlemen.  In a time when we bemoan the loss of civil discourses and our society seems to become coarser by the day, Dancing Classrooms is a program that demands the children not only treat others with respect, but also encourages the children to respect themselves.
