Seat map now available for American Airlines’ 777-300

No real surprises to be found in the online seat maps for the American Airlines 777-300, but they are now available for review.

The first and business class cabins are both 1-2-1 in layout. There are still differences in the seats and service but the layout is roughly similar. In business class there is a mini-cabin forward of the second boarding door that looks like it will be pretty nice, particularly row 3 or the L seat in row 4.

In the economy cabin, again no surprises, but confirmation once again that the main section of the cabin will be a somewhat cramped 3-4-3 arrangement. Somewhat interesting is the arrangement at rows 30-32, where there is a galley and lavs, as well as an exit door. There are only 2 seats on the outside sections there rather than three like in most of the cabin. There are also only 2 on the outside at the very back, a result of the fuselage tapering.

Still doesn’t look like a particularly great ride in the back of the plane.

  1. One of the best things about 3 class airplanes, the usual mini-business class cabin between 1st and the second door. Flew ANA (77W) and Swiss (343) in this config in this section. Great service and privacy!

Agree on the 3x4x3. Tight quarters even before you add in the average size of an American…

  2. Agree w/ Brian….pmUA has a nice config in the old layout w/ a mini cabin in biz …which I loved.

  3. Yeah 3-4-3 stinks. Flew it on NZ this spring and I’m only 5’8″ and 155 lbs, my wife is 5’1″ and barely 110 lbs, we were not at all comfortable for the 11 hour ride. Impossible to get past anyone in the aisles (even FAs still seem to struggle with the carts at times), noticeably less shoulder or hip room, and if what I read on FT is correct and AA has 31″ pitch, AA won’t be getting my longhaul business ever again if it’s on these birds.

  4. Ten abreast seating in coach is awful and I refuse to fly any carrier that uses it when I am either required to, or prefer to fly coach vs. biz class. The difference between Qatar Air (9 across) vs. KLM’s 777 (10 across) sevice is night and day. I pay an extra $125 USD for Qatar’s bigger seat, for my commute between SIN – DPS (Bali).

  5. I thought AA said these 777-300’s would be two class only (i.e. Business Class and Coach – not counting coach xtra).

    1. I believe the new 77Ws are 3-cabin and the old 772s are being retrofit as 2-cabin as they get the new C seats.

  6. Nice catch, Michael. I didn’t notice that before. I’m sure they’ll figure that out in the next few months as they actually take delivery.

  7. I am due to fly to New York soon on a 777 W and i was wondering what is the seat number over the wing . I had 29 J but now i change the seat to 34 J
but I love the seats over the wings

any one with this info can let me kno

    Many Thanks guys
