Clear App: Cross Chores Off Your To-Do List With a Swipe

The new Clear to-do list app takes a different approach from others in that it's not loaded with auxiliary features. Clear is quick, simple, intuitive, and perfect for busy people who need a list to juggle a million tasks a day.

Clear's interface is understandable at a glance and streamlined for quick use. Items are sorted by priority from top to bottom, and color-coded according to urgency. Yellow items near the bottom of your list can probably wait another day, and red items at the top should be addressed immediately. Items can also be organized into lists so you can keep your shopping list and work tasks separate.

The best part about the app is the gesture controls. A swipe to the right crosses off an item (or list), which nicely emulates the actual gesture of crossing something off on a piece of paper. The app takes advantage of many of the gestures possible on the iPhone's multi-touch screen: A swipe to the left removes an item, pulling down creates another, and pinching closes the list you're in and takes you to the top level.

Clear looks like a great app because it emulates the best to-do list most of us have ever had: a piece of paper. While the geo-location features on apps like Remember the Milk are sometimes useful, what most of us are looking for is a to-do list app that's going to simplify getting things done—not add another level of complexity.
