What a Night at the SHOW WE CARE Fashion Show and Gala!

What an incredible night it was! On Thursday, June 7, WFCC members, staff and friends took to the stage at 6 Degrees, one of the hottest clubs in town at the heart of Yonge and Eglinton. Our gorgeous models strutted their stuff, there was food and drink galore (including a stunning dessert table by Georgie Porgie Creations) and a silent auction with tons of fabulous goods. All in all, the event raised tens of thousands of dollars, and all proceeds from the event go to benefit the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. We are so proud of our incredible community.

The theme of the evening was to fight for a cure for breast and other women’s cancers. Motivational speaker and financial guru Winnie Go took to the stage to deliver an inspiring entreaty to the women in the room. “I will NOT be beaten,” said Winnie, who is herself a breast cancer survivor. (Several WFCC members have also shared their own stories of cancer survival on the Show We Care website: they are brave and inspiring, and you can find them here.)

Following Winnie’s brave and inspirational speech, our stunning models took to the stage for a high-energy fashion show! They modeled a huge variety of current fashions from show sponsors including Melanie Lyne, The Gap and Canada’s very own Lululemon, as well as jewels from Moshe Fine Jewelry. Rounding out the fashion portion of the evening, we had a live hair-donation show, with one brave woman and one brave boy donating locks of their hair to make wigs for women suffering from chemo-related hair loss: their new haircuts were the most beautiful fashions of them all. A portion of the proceeds from the evening also went to support a wig salon that specializes in providing wigs for women with cancer.

Finally, everyone rounded off the evening with a live band and a dance party til late!

Thanks so much to everyone who attended, participated, planned or otherwise helped make the Womens Fitness Clubs of Canada SHOW WE CARE Fashion Show and Gala the event of the season!
