The playboy son of a mega-rich Madison Ave. art dealer says he got involved in an illegal, high-stakes poker and sports betting ring that catered to multi-millionaire and billionaire celebrities because his father exposed him to gambling at an early age.
Hillel Nahmad, 35, was betting on Knicks games by 14 and lost a bar mitzvah gift watch in a bet over table tennis, his lawyers said in a filing.
Nahmad — due to be sentenced in Manhattan April 30 after copping a plea in the $100 million gambling operation that the feds linked to a Russian mob don — wants community service rather than prison time and is offering to teach homeless children about art.
Prosecutors said in a filing Wednesday Nahmad should receive a 12-month to 18-month sentence.
