Description

Can planning your postdoc help you attain your goals of becoming a faculty member? What should you include in your plan and how often should you revise it?

Join us for a coffee hour with Kassandra Ori-McKenney and Rick McKenney, two UCSF postdoctoral scholars who are finishing up their faculty interviews.
About the speakers:
Rick and Kassie are postdoctoral scholars at UCSF who used a multi-year plan for their postdoctoral training from day 1. They both received a K-99 grant with high scores and published first author papers in quality journals during their postdoc. They are currently in the last stages of interviews at several institutions and are expecting to transition to faculty positions in the Fall. Kassie and Rick are married and have a 21-month old daughter. Here, they will share how their plan helped meet some important milestones during their postdoc while starting a family, and how they adapted their plan to meet the reality of a science career.
