Do-follow Links vs No-follow Links - Does it really matter?

Any time you have a link on the web you are leaving a foot print for google. I think it is a foolish idea that google does not crawl the web. Yes you do get a vote with a "do follow" and that vote is withheld by "no follow" but don't think for a second that google didn't go...
