Maybe you already know - but I'm not a big fan of these National Standards. Why? In short, it seems like these standards are trying to come up with a number to evaluate the artistic level of a painting. Why would you want to do that? Even if you wanted a number rating for every painting, is it even possible to quantify this?

Yes. I know the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) aren't direction about evaluation of students. However, it is just a small step from listing what students should know to creating evaluation instruments. It is the evaluation instruments that I dread the most.

Really, I don't want to talk about the NGSS. Instead, I want to share this comic that I made.

I would add an explanation here - but that would kind of ruin the comic.

Also, if you want to make Science Standards (which I don't think you should) - you should at least make the content correct. John Denker seems to have done a very solid job examining the standards.

Or if you wait a couple of days, the recent Global Physics Department chat on NGSS will be available as a recording.
