Are many people and our society out of balance due to too much focus on money?

Are many people and our society out of balance due to too much focus on money and not enough on love, joy, compassion, gratitude, intuition (the softer or feminine parts of us that makes us human)?

Do you use greed or joy as the main motivator in your work? (By greed I mean desire for more money or profit. Maybe greed is the wrong word.)
How about our society and world? Do you find it overly money motivated and off balance?
Do you feel that a change can be made by teaching our children to follow joy instead of greed?

I am blogging on how people can gain a lot more out of life by finding a balance between left brain and right brain thinking (or rational vs. intuitive, masculine vs. feminine parts of themselves or yang vs. yin or mind vs. heart) and I am wondering what you people think about this.

I feel that many people are out of touch with their humanity due to living a very mechanistic, robotic, cookie cutter, same-o same-o type life where people are out of touch with their inner joy, inner genius, Spirit, etc. and this is the main cause of many ills such as huge income inequality, mass shootings, etc.

I know that in many people's personal lives, they are finding a much more fun way by taking their focus off of money wholly and focusing more on what really matters in their lives. This is great!

See this excellent quote by Einstein:

What a beautiful quote this is from the foremost genius of our world! What Einstein is saying is that most humans are giving too much importance to the logical / rational mind and pooh poohing intuition, energy and joy (again feminine qualities), which can benefit humanity tremendously!

These days I have noticed that there are tons of people who are taking a serious look at spiritual / energy / intuitive methods and realizing that there are incredible solutions here for their lives and for our world! I know there are tons of spiritual/intuitive bend people on this board from what I have read! Plus there are several IM gurus I have seen producing these type of courses.

I am not saying take your focus off money. I am for balance in our personal lives and for our families, community and world. What we can do is talk about balance on social media, etc. We can recommend that corps not be so money or profit driven and be more heart and service driven (Conscious Capitalism -- I talk a lot about this also.)

Incredible question. Here is another one I ask to put it in perspective.

Would we have accomplished anywhere near as much in technology, science, medicine (Would we even have the internet) if we lived without the deadlines and motivation for money?

I once took a yoga class and loved it. Began checking into the ancient history behind it. When I had the chance to ask a yogi master about why India was ruled by England for so long with such an incredible and illustrious people I was blown away by the response. He simply said it was the ebb and flow of life. It’s time had come and ended when it’s time had finished. Amazing!

Western thought is not anywhere near like that. We achieve, accomplish, and move on in growth. Much to the dismay of those seeing us as being too focused on money (trophies, status, power). Sure we could use a lot more “yoga” type improvement in lifestyle. Things such as being in the present moment or stopping to smell the roses. But at what cost? Loss of development. A hard but necessary step in my opinion.

What good is all the money if you cannot live as well?

From my experience and research, I believe that we must start questioning our assumptions that everyone takes for granted about how our world works. I know one thing. Our world is very much set up to control humans and keep us locked in the machine. This includes almost everything, including government, religions, corporations, monetary system, economic system, educational system, our science, almost everything.

Here are the words of Brian Tracy regarding the human accomplishments you mention. Brian Tracy as you may know has written a lot of books regarding business, selling, also the superconscious mind.

"All great creative geniuses all great innovations all major breakthroughs in human history have come as a result of super conscious functioning. Some of the people who have written about using the Super conscious functioning include Ralph Waldo Emerson. Emerson said that he never wrote anything of his own volition. He just simply acted as a conduit for this oversoul or this infinite intelligence and it would pour through him and the words would flow out onto paper word perfect, come through his brain almost as if he were tapped into an unearthly power source.

Mozart, considered the greatest musician of all time wrote his music note perfect the first time. When he sat down to write, the entire music, the entire symphony, the entire opus would come into his mind and he would simply tanscribe it onto paper and people who read Mozarts music even at the time he was writing it said it was the most beautiful music ever written down on paper He wrote it without corrections without changes note perfect the very first time

Beathoven was deaf from the age of 35 Most of his great works were written after he was totally deaf. Beathoven also said that the symphonies came full blown into his mind and he simply transcribed them onto paper.

Edison, the greatest inventor of the modern age used this Super Conscious capability over and over again to tap into a higher power and used it for coming up with inventions and insights and so on.

Michael Faraday, considered the father of electromagnetic field theory an uneducated man who had tremendous capability to use this super conscious capability and pioneered the work that led to the development of the vacuum tube which led to the radio industry, the TV industry, electronic industry the transistor, microelectronics, the micro electronic chip, the entire set of principles came to him in a dream and he got up in the middle of the night and he wrote page after page after page of scientific formulations which later when taken down to the laboratory and tested were found to be absolutely perfectly precise and brand new in all of human history and never been written or discovered or worked out before.

There's a book by Richard Bucke, a psychiatrist, called Cosmic Consciousness where Bucke goes back several hundred years of the most creative men and women of all time and finds that virtually every single one of them spoke about in their writings an ability to tap into a higher form of consciousness". The above words in quotes are from Brian Tracy.

How about Nikola Tesla who worked with Edison. Tesla is well known to have gotten his discoveries by tapping into thesuper-conscious.

How about Einstein. I showed you his quote regarding the intuitive mind and what he thought about the logical / rational mind. From my research, Einstein and all the founders of the Quantum sciences and quantum mechanics (reality at the subatomic particle level) were avid readers of the Vedas, the ancient sacred books of India. According to their statements, they got a lot of inspiration from the Vedas that led to the work that they did in Quantum physics and what they were finding in their work in quantum physics was almost exactly in line or validated what they were reading in the Vedas.

You were talking about India. Actually, I am from India and live here in Delhi. (But most of my life I have spent in US) Very few know about the history of India. Huge discoveries were made by the ancient seers of India, who did it without the scientific contraptions like telescopes and microscopes, etc. They did it largely using the intuitive mind, using methods that we don't know about. Yet their discoveries are being proven 100% valid today.

The number 0 came from an ancient sage, without which modern mathematics and modern science would have been impossible. Huge discoveries were made in astronomy and astrophysics which are only now being confirmed and validated using the latest telescope technology.

Did you know that India at the time of the Britishers had thousands of advanced schools of learning in which this knowledge was taught. What was being taught in the areas of science, medicine, commerce, etc. was highly advanced stuff that rivaled the advanced universities of today. When the Britishers came they found that these advanced universities would pose a threat to their empire. So they outlawed them. They made it law that Indians could only send their kids to convent type schools. Did you know that several centuries before Jesus, in India there were functioning toilet system and an underground sewage system. It was similar in design to what we had today. Much of what we had prior to the Britishers has been wiped out from the Indian mind due to several centuries of British rule. So we don't even know what there was.

I have not been able to personally verify that 100% of what I am telling you is true. However I do know that there is a huge body of knowledge that the people in control just don't want people to know. This is to keep humans locked in the machine, the matrix. But things are changing now and this knowledge is getting out now, more and more and more.

The other thing is that over time I have learned how to use the super-conscious mind. It does work once people learn how to use it. There is a great genius that lies inside all humans that lies latent, waiting for us to wake up and discover it. The way we wake up is start giving more importance to our intuitive mind, as Einstein said. And stop thinking the logical / rational mind is the king. It is the servant.

I created a video over a year ago that I want to share here. I think you will start thinking out of the box once you see this video. Much of what I say in this video still holds true however I have grown tremendously in my thinking and experience since I made this video. So I wouldn't say things exactly this way. But it's still a pretty good video as far as content and will help people think more clearly about our world, I think.. I have shared it with very few people so far, just a couple of close friends. I was waiting to develop several more things before I could get this content out. I am kind of reluctant to do so now, but here goes.

here is what we can do about income inequality ..make everyone dirt poor .

yes there is to much focus on money ..but civilization fir the last 10000 years has been a system of controlling the masses with money and taxes ..and forced labor

in today world we train people to get into debt cuts down the number of guards needed for forced labor.

today money is debt ..and debt is the problem with our society .

i will state it another way .

if you where born with and still have 2 hands and a functioning brain ..from a 60 iq to a 200 iq .

to be healthy and balanced you need to work with both of them to create something or be productive .

in society today a vast majority of the population..do not earn money based on what they can create with their hands and be productive .

their hands and bodies are doing repetative tasks and their minds are on something else ..

Our world has made us become a robot. It is always a competition with one another. How many of us teach our child to be happy and thank to GOD for making his friend win that medal ?? Instead we start scolding them by asking why they have not won it. Our mentality has changed. But to whom to blame?? is it our society who claims if we are not educated then we cant get a good job. Is it our Government who claims to pay tax? people will eat, support their family, educate their children? or what else they can do to survive in this fast society?
I personally made my daughter join a dance class and a yoga class so that she not only keeps herself healthy, but also will help her to interact with the nature.

This is a fantastic note. Personally, my goal is freedom. Of course, money will get me the freedom I'm aiming for, however, it's not exactly the green that motivates me. I yearn for a life full of experiences and memories, friends and family.

But I know people that are after the money and I am sad for them because it will never be fulfilling, they will never have enough. It can't be just about the money. It has to be about something more.

There are two primary games to be played.

    1. The game of capitalism

    2. The game of life

If you play the first correctly, it leads to money; the second, to happiness. The key is to find your personal balance and devote your time and energy accordingly. For some, this might mean 80% time+energy to game #1; for others, the opposite. And so on.

There's no right or wrong answer. Both are essential to an extent.

@Dain Supero, I believe we are here to figure out how to have both money and happiness, not either or. I think that is what you are saying. Watch my videos above on Natural, Passionate, Effortless Abundance. I believe most humans are at a dead end as far as the direction we are going and this is the reason our entire world is in chaos and peril. The reason for the human mechanistic experience is due to smoke and mirrors. What we are taught by society and our schools is upside down, illusion. My video above will make things clearer. Hope it helps.

According to objectivism in a rational world money is a true value of virtue. Again, this would be the case 100% in a rational world (i.e. everyone gains their money through voluntary trade and not through force, theft, fraud, etc.) Since not everyone is society gains their money through a rational and peaceful way then issue gets muddied.

Money is one aspect of human life that fits into an encompassing philosophy. In a rational philosophy money serves a rational purpose and is a measure of ones value provided to the market. Because some people do irrational things to get money does not mean that money itself is irrational.

Government does incredibly irrational things with money from our perspective. From their perspective we are a herd of tax sheeple that can be lied to and stolen from etc.
Of course logically it's absurd, they gives us laws to abide they don't have to follow, No initiation of force, but yet the tax us.
Money represents that freedom that we all want.. Getting out of the job paradigm sure is a nice carrot ey? I mean look at this forum how many try. In the end we all want to be happy, at peace, be well and physically and psychologically secure.
Most of us have this linked to material things in the outer world. If I get this I'll be happy right?
If I have this job, partner, child, amount of money etc. I'll be happy and at peace.
Ego want's that peace so badly, that sense of permanence, of I can rest.
And for many money represents that. That freedom.sense of I have arrived and can rest.
Money sure gives a lot of freedom in the outer world, and perhaps some in the inner superficially.
It makes sense that we are falling over ourselves, over focussing on money because we are spiritually starving and poor..

@Consciousyes, Government or our authorities or leaders do things to us because we allow them to. We allow them to because on the mass level, most people are asleep. However there is also a mass awakening going on simultaneously. The sleeping giant is fidgeting and may be about to awaken soon.

I think most people want to live in the norms of their society and those are mostly smoke and mirrors. The purpose of most humans has been to plug into the machine or matrix rather than challenge it or start examining their own assumptions about their reality or world. The best thing we can do is wake up and encourage others to wake up!

My copy of Atlas Shrugged is overused

But objectivism is a very hard philosophy to swallow, especially for left oriented people. For every Francisco D'Anconia and John Galt there are 100 James Taggart.

This would be a big fat yes, for no longer do we do things for the enjoyment anymore it's all about the money now and the more we get, the more we want, we have forgotten how to be happy the normal way and now we're always trying to buy happiness.
