Box Score Wise, Va. – The Wheeling Jesuit Volleyball team continued its Mountain East Conference play on Friday against the Cavaliers of the University of Virginia's College at Wise. Jesuit defeated the Cavaliers in three sets, pushing their record to 26-3 overall and 11-0 in the MEC.
Sophomore middle
Haley Kindall led the Cardinals to victory with 13 kills, 3 blocks, and a .400 hitting percentage. Right beside her was sophomore outside
Emma Schleucher who added 12 kills, two assists, two service aces, three blocks, and had a .480 hitting percentage to best all competitors on the court. Finally, freshman outside
Maddy Smyth turned in five kills, one assist, and three blocks as the Cardinals dominated play, winning 25-14, 25-15, 25-8.

Andrea Thobe set her teammates with precision, tallying 38 assists.
UVA-Wise could not put the ball down on the Cardinals. WJU recorded 74 total digs in the contest with four Wheeling Jesuit players registering double-digit dig totals. Senior defensive specialist
Makenzie Ripley, who registered 20 total digs in the match, led the group. She was followed by sophomore outside
Kayce Krucki (17 total digs), junior outside
Jessica Thobe (15 total digs), and senior defensive specialist
Corrin Early (10 total digs).
The 2014 season marks the eighth consecutive year that Head Coach
Christy Benner's team has recorded 25 wins or more in a season.
Wheeling Jesuit University returns to volleyball action next Friday, October 31
st, for a 7pm matchup against the University of Urbana then will come back on Saturday, November 1
st to play Notre Dame College and Davis & Elkins College in a tri-match. The Cardinals will square off against Notre Dame College at 1pm and then will return to play Davis & Elkins College at 5pm.
