The carbon footprint of British holiday flights - interactive
Where do Brits fly on holiday and how does that impact on the climate? This map – based of a sample of residents from Greater Manchester and West Sussex – shows the relative carbon footprint of UK leisure flying by destination. Each red dot represents a destination airport and is sized to shows its carbon footprint.
Click on a circle to see the airport names and figures (which reflect the sample only, not all UK travellers). The green circle is a key showing 50,000 tonnes. David Parkinson calculated the data and created the map for Small World Consulting
