Early childhood nature-based programs are on the rise in Wisconsin, and for good reason. Multiple studies document the benefits of nature on growth and development. But who is involved with this movement? What resources are available? Where can I get more information? This compilation* is a place to start.

The folder is set up as “view only” right now without sign-in. Early Childhood Environmental Education Programs: Guidelines for Excellence is the newest addition to the continuing series published by the North American Association for Environmental Education as part of the National Project for Excellence in Environmental Education.

   
The Early Childhood Environmental Education (EE) Rating Scale provides a collaborative tool for educators and others to discuss early childhood EE program goals, consider strengths and areas needing improvement, and chart a direction for development.

   
Project Learning Tree's "Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood" training is now available in an online format! This self-paced online workshop gives you access to an e-guide version of the award-winning curriculum guide.

   
Just as more attention is being focused on the need to connect students to nature at a younger age, Project Learning Tree (PLT) has published a new curriculum guide and music CD to engage children ages three to six in outdoor exploration and play.

   
This book is written especially for helping naturalists and environmental educators design developmentally appropriate EE programs and activities for young children.
