Regrettably I had to miss Sunday's lesson due to work. While working on the lesson, I had a question regarding 183c. Am I correct to assume that it is a "Tap" on the 12th & 13th fret?

Yup!!! It's a tapping bit. Each section is a solo bit that works with the background track Don't worry we are shredding up again this weekend!!

Huge Props to VonHotch, Nai, GregH, and everyone who earned it BIG TIME in our "Day of Rest" lesson today Next weekend we may tone down the crazy just a bit but we will still work on solo stuff and fun bits

I had to miss this weeks lessons again.

While working on Lesson 187f I notice I have to shift my entire fretting hand to make the 5 - 10 pinky stretch. My question is do you recommend playing the 8 - 5 - 7 on the G string with the index (5) middle (7) ring (8) so as not to have to shift the fretting hand? Or is it best to still use index, ring & pinky accordingly for the 5-7-8 main line of the riff? It just seems that I don't have to shift the fretting hand to reach the 10th fret with the pinky by using index, middle & ring fingers.

I'm assuming this was done as single (ap), double & quad picking & then marched up the neck. Correct?

This is another exercise that I really like!

We missed ya! The 187f lick is a fun one The lick is designed to force the pinky to reach and stick the landing so you can finger it any what that feels comfy as long as you reach out with the pinky

We moved that lick down to the G string starting on the 2nd fret to put it back in key for the backing. People started to have hands explode/fall off, so we didn't do it for long, but it's a great way to work your stretch!

Oh man!, looking at the tabs it seems I missed a really cool session. I am sure a good time was had by all.
The weather here in AK has just been spectacular tho and I spent the day on the lake in the boat with my bro and some friends and their kids and did a bit of wakeboard coaching . The sun was kickin all day long , and today was even hotter than yesterday as we hit 91F, almost 33 C!
I haven't seen a summer like this one up here since the early 90's into the early 2000's. Some people don't like it much, but for a sun worshiper like myself it is just what the doctor ordered! I'll try to catch you next weekend Todd!
Oh and PS. It's 11 PM here and 75 F and the sun is still up.
