iPlanTree Story

My name is Adrian Petre. I am writing on behalf of iPlanTree Project, a very special initiative dedicated to promoting environmental stewardship and conservation education and providing a healthy camp experience for underprivileged children.

The goal of the first phase of the iPlanTree project is to plant 25,000 trees by the end of 2015 for the purpose of generating oxygen in a location that is currently “oxygen deprived.” 

The value of our trees should never be taken for granted! An average size tree creates enough oxygen in one year to provide oxygen for an entire family of four. If we could plant 20 million trees, the earth could get with 260 million more tons of oxygen. And just as importantly, trees are renewable, biodegradable and recyclable!

During the second phase of our project, we will be building bungalows for impoverished children to attend summer camp to play and learn in a “green” environment.

For most children, summer camps are incredibly fun but not unusual. Year after year they look forward to making new friends, learning new skills, and enjoying a summer of outdoor activity. But for children living in poverty, it’s a far different story. During the summer, these children usually play on city streets or on asphalt playgrounds. They have no reprieve from the difficult circumstance in which they live. Giving them a healthy camp experience gives them a window into another way of life. They learn about the environment; their camp counselors become their role models; friendships are cemented; and their self-confidence is strengthened.

We have already purchased the land for Phase I of our project – planting the trees. We are reaching out to you today to ask for a donation to help us reach our 2015 goal of planting 25,000 trees and to position us to move ahead with Phase II – building the bungalows.
