Harrison Ford has said that he called Shia LaBeouf a "f**king idiot" for publicly criticising Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
LaBeouf, who played the whip-cracking archaeologist's son in the fourth instalment of the saga, previously suggested that both he and director Steven Spielberg "dropped the ball" with Crystal Skull.
Ford admitted in a Details magazine profile of LaBeouf that he had strong words to say to his co-star after he spoke out against the latest Indiana Jones adventure.
"I think I told him he was a f**king idiot," said Ford. "As an actor, I think it's my obligation to support the film without making a complete ass of myself.
"Shia is ambitious, attentive, and talented - and he's learning how to deal with a situation which is very unique and difficult."
LaBeouf confessed that he "got lambasted" for criticising the sequel.
LaBeouf's latest movie Transformers: Dark of the Moon opens in cinemas today. The 25-year-old has claimed that he is now finished with the series and won't return for a fourth instalment.
