Salvador H. Laurel
Senator Salvador H. Laurel was born in Paco, Manila on November 18, 1928 to Philippine President Jose P. Laurel and Paciencia Hidalgo.
He studied at the Ateneo de Manila for the elementary level and highschool at La Salle College. In 1946 he attended pre-med at the University of the Philippines. Laurel took up pre-law in 1949 and finished Bachelor of Laws in 1952 at U.P. He finished master of laws in 1953 and Doctor of Juridical Science in 1960 both at Yale University.
From 1967 to 1972 he was elected senator and he was delegate to the UN General Assembly from 1968, 1969 up to 1970. In 1968 attended Inter Parliamentary Union, Lima, Peru and Asean Inter-parliamentary Organization, Singapore in 1978.
He was Vice-President of the Philippines from 1986-1992.
Senator Laurel married Celia Diaz with with whom he has eight children.
