Twitter’s redesign allows brand profile pages

By Stefano on 9 December 2011

Part of Twitter’s major revamp that was announced yesterday, brand profiles can now be created to “help marketers create an even more compelling destination on Twitter for their brands”.

Brands can now choose the message that will be displayed when visitors will first land on their page by promoting a Tweet these promoted Tweets will automatically be expanded to reveal any attached media. The header area has been changed to reveal a much larger image for displaying logos, tag lines and any visuals. Overall the pages are much richer with more than a hint of Facebook’s new timeline profiles.

‘Enhanced Profiles’ are available free of charge, however they are currently exclusive to 21 companies which includ @AmericanExpress, @Heineken and @McDonalds. The feature will be opened up to all brands in the near future.
