Marching Forward: Experiences from WOC on the Ground

In cities around the world, millions of women came together to voice their rights. In Washington, D.C. alone, an enormous crowd, easily in the hundreds of thousands, came to assert that their civil rights need to be considered in policy and society as a whole. For many, the march was also an opportunity to denounce Donald Trump, whose inauguration set a bleak tone for his administration.

I asked some women (and women-identifying people) of color in D.C. how they felt about the march, whether they felt that the march - which initially lacked representation by women of color in leadership roles - met their expectations, and ways that they think people can use the momentum of the weekend to make changes in their community.
