J.Crew Opens First Men's Store in London

J.Crew is taking things across the pond, opening their first men’s shop in the UK. Located in a former townhouse in central London, the store has the same vibe as the brand’s often imitated, never duplicated Tribeca Liquor Store and others like it throughout the US. Up for grabs are seasonal essentials, like tweed blazers, colorful ties, and the usual array of perfectly-washed button downs. Christened 38 Lamb’s Conduit, reflecting the address, it’s clear at first glance that character is key. Also important? Self-restraint. Given the power of pound sterling and with the Crew’s full product offerings and special items like Han Kjbenhavn sunglasses and M&P Timepieces, you could easily drop way more coin than you would stateside. But the brand’s home base was not totally forgotten with their foray over the Atlantic. As chairman and CEO Mickey Drexler told the Telegraph, "I love that every neighbourhood throughout London has its own unique personality - it’s a lot like New York City in that way." Keep that in mind the next time you feel homesick traveling abroad.
