Magpies football club was founded back in 1981. Initially, they were run out of the Fountain pub and based in Seabrook. The club was set up by Gary Crooks and Clive Fuller and after a year of frendlies entered the Hythe and Folkestone and District Sunday Morning League. Phil Thompson, current gaffa, joined along with four others from the defunct Warren team in 1987.

Over the years over 500 players have represented the pies and their combined efforts have secured the Memorial Cup and three Division 2 titles. Back in 1998, Magpies looked like they could pull off a remarkable quadruple; the league, league cup, Eddie Burvill cup, and the Kent cup. The pies lost in all three cup semi-finals but secured the league. More recently, the pies made it to three consecutive Mick Stapely cup finals... and lost them all.

Magpies have endured a somewhat nomadic existance. After starting out in Seabrook, the club has been run out of Folkestone, Hawkinge, Hythe and Sellindge and now Lyminge. Despite this, the core of the team has always been based in Folkestone. Club legends include the current gaffa, Phil Thompson, and the striking partnership of Ally Mantle and Dave Hathaway, who scored over 500 goals between them.
