- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 May 2012I must admit, Justin does tend to get on my nerves a little, he seems to be most everywhere when you have kids of a certain age, but am really impressed with this album.
My little one (aged 5) started singing "hands up, put your hands up" around the house and I couldn't understand where she got it from, then I saw the TV ad for this album and it all became clear...
It's a really good album, gets children of all ages on the floor, jumping/dancing about and certainly brings back some memories for Mums and Dads of nursery rhymes from days gone by, but undoubtedly the star of the show is the title song...love, love, love it and I am the wrong side of 40!
The day after it arrived, I put it in my car and we played it on the way to grocery shopping and all I can say is the folks coming towards us on the other side of the road must have thought we were crazy...both me and my daughter were singing away!
Don't hesitate, if you have young 'uns, thay will love it...and you can always get it out and play it on their 18th birthday to embarrass them!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 May 2014My daughter who is now 18 months is a Mr Tumble / Justin Fletcher fan.
We have the album he did with something special which she loves now I had origianlly thought of buying this hands up album for her but due to a review I read I decided against it that was until the other day.
We were having lunch just before easter and I had my laptop on the kitchen table playing videos on youtube of Singing Hands (which she also loves) playlist when all of a sudden the video of Justin's Hands up song comes on. My daughter perks right up points to the laptop screen and says "Justin!" what a suprise she's never done that before then she just danced around in her highchair to this song and I just thought if she loves it then why not buy it?
It is a great album and she loves listening to it and having a dance. Anyone who has a child who is a Justin Fletcher fan then there is no doubt they'll love this album so yes I would recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 November 2012Brilliant cd for a kids party. A familiar voice they will know if they've ever watched the CBeebies channel, classic kids songs ... but combined with a decent dance beat too.
The only reason not to give 5 stars is that most of the tracks are only about a minute long, so the cd ends up looping through again and again, and before long driving every adult in the room to breaking point. The kids absolutely loved it though.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 April 2012I bought this for my grandson, who is nearly 3.
I first played it to him in the car and thought he would be a bit bored but he loved it. He has actually started singing along to the songs and I've only played it twice.
I told him that Mr Tumble was singing and he argued that it was not Mr Tumble it was TIME. I hadn't realised that Justin Fletcher had so many different characters on CBeebies but he knew. Shows what I know!!
I have bought other kids CDs for him and they have not been so recognisable as this one. He loves it.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 January 2013I was looking for some nice music for my 22month old son and came across this. I am not a Justin Fletcher fan by any means but he has done a good job here. The tunes are cheerful, and generally true to the originals I remember from childhood rather than the odd versions some albums contain.
My son particularly likes the title tune, "hands up", which has simple instructions he can follow easily such as "clap your hands" "stamp your feet" and "reach up high". He dances around the living room happily and often asks for it, so a definite hit here.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 May 2012Well... what a shock! Mr Tumble takes on Techno! I love this album, I was a bit of 90s dance fan so when I put this on for my two boys I burst out laughing at the jazzed up techno versions of all the traditional songs! I don't feel that this spoils it though, My little boy loves it and is constantly bouncing to it on his bed!Its not the usual annoying nursery rhyme type cd and we all really like it, just be prepared to do a alot of jigging about!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 March 2012My 3yr old grandson loves this, as usual Justin is brilliant with all the songs, unfortunately Granima is shattered from all the actions and marching and dancing, my legs were aching when it finished (and I sat down for some)most of the songs my grandson sings at nursery and the new song Hands Up he loves doing the actions by the second chorus. If you want peace and quite this is NOT the CD but if you want to keep fit and to try to tire out the kids then I recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 May 2012This man is my ultimate hero when it comes to children's entertainment - the Clown Prince of Pre-scchool Fun but what has happened here?! Track 1 is shocking - is it an introduction to drum n bass for the pre-school audience?! The rest of the cd follows on from the intro. What I refer to as boom-chi-boom-chi (I know, I'm an old git) versions of the timeless classics. What matters is that my son loves it, especially the Laughing Policeman but please parents everywhere, download the Toy Dolls version of Nellie the Elephant instead.
Thanks for the endless hours of visual entertainment Justin but please, let's have another series of Gigglebiz instead of techno toons for tots.
May I also recommend Justin's other cd which is highly addictive, I am the Monkey is one of my all time favourites. You won't be cold in a coat ... will be in your head until your child is ready for Uni!
