Welcome to SHRED BOOTCAMP! I'll be your Drill Instructor! And I do mean DRILL! As in a large power tool used in slasher films and Paul Gilbert concerts. Here is were you EARN THE LIVING DEATH out of your fingers and break through any speed bumps/barriers to become a MASTER CHIEF of Shred!
Here is the DIRECT LINK to your own BOOTCAMP! http://bitly.com/yashsbootcamp MISSON #1 THE MISSION 1.)Your mission is to go all the way back to the very start. The base of the mountain. LESSON 1. http://bitly.com/gmclesson1 Which you will play SLOWWWWWWLLY, very SLOWWWLLLLYYYY until you master it at a crawl (As You'll Do With Each Mission, and focus on left hand FORM! Make it SUPER PERFECT!). Speed it up bit by bit until you feel your ready to take it to WAR (Any speed, it's up to you) Shoot a video and post it as a reply to this post. I'll then offer a constructive and brutally honest critique. THE AFTERMATH Upon nailing the crap out of lesson one at a speed you didn't think possible, and playing it a clean as a freshly waxed floor, you will be given your first insignia of Rank in BOOTCAMP! Practice! Todd This post has been edited by Todd Simpson: Jun 6 2012, 03:50 AM |

Problem spotted Sargent - I sometimes go faster than the metronome, even at 180 bpm.

Well fought Soldier!! And WELCOME BACK TO THE FIGHT!!! We have missed you the FoxHole of Shreddery
that is the BOOTCAMP!! Great to see you digging in! Let's debrief!! MEDALS OF HONOR *MUTE: Solid Palm Muting here. I'd suggest maybe pulling the guitar up a pinch so that your hand can cover the entire bridge even if your not muting. It's handy for quick on / off mutes! *STRIKES: Very clean picking strikes and good alternate picking. Looks like you have been spending time in the woodshed!! *AGGRESSION: Points for sheer, outright Aggression. I appreciate an aggressive style! These first few Missions are just to get your fet wet and get you accustomed to the process. You will tear through them like a hot knife through butter! In other words you just killed it and .. LEVELED UP!!! Next up is MISSION 2!! Then 3 and so forth. Here is the link to the Master Thread! http://bit.ly/twtgmc Sarge Here we go. So, I've been wanting to tackle this for a long long time, but, the metronome with the boring clicks really gets me off my timing. I know I can play stuff, but it throws me off, I have no idea why. I can easily go quarter notes if the metronome is going quarter notes too, but, eighth notes, I get confused. Then, if I put like, a drum track or something behind me, I easily get it done right. So, basically, what I am saying is, I apparently can't, or don't know how to work with a basic metronome. As for the Metronome, it just takes some getting used to. You can set it to 8th notes and just play one note for each noise the metronome makes. Make sense? Here's the job done, 200 bpm, eighth notes Hope it works. What's the next job? |
