| "EYE OF AMBER: JUPITER" ::: © JTK.CA A collage of my moon photograph on the left and my photo of Jupiter with a string of four of its moons on the right. Our moon is 12x optical zoom. Jupiter is 48x digital zoom. Various exposures of Jupiter gave it different coloured halos. This amber halo reminded me of the insect trapped in amber in JURASSIC PARK. Jupiter also showed up with a purple halo, a red halo, and a yellow halo in different exposures. All pretty, but I picked this one. |

Whether or not you can see it, simply depends on your monitor. I can see it on my netbook screen, but not on my much larger, higher-resolution external monitor. Go figure. ;-P At times like this, my camera amazes me! You can really see that it “is” Jupiter, on the periphery of the light it’s giving off! :-O ♥ |

I used my 63 times optical zoom SONY DSC-H400 digital camera for these shots. The star is 230 light-years away, meaning, just looking at this picture is a form of time travel. I shot the photo in 2013, so you’re actually seeing Mu Geminorum (μ Gem, μ Geminorum) a.k.a.
