Bitly is Great Place to Work Certified

Bitly is proud to be Certified™ by Great Place to Work®. This year, 96% of employees said it’s a great place to work – 37 points higher than the average U.S. company. Great Place to Work® is the global authority on workplace culture, employee experience, and leadership behaviors proven to deliver market-leading revenue, employee retention and increased innovation. “As a result of COVID-19, many trends we were seeing in the workplace over time exponentially accelerated- remote work, technology, globalization- in addition to employees having a reckoning around what matters most to them in their work that has led to the “Great Resignation” we’re seeing globally.

Why Great Place to Work Certification Matters

Great Place to Work® Certification™ is the most definitive “employer-of-choice” recognition that companies aspire to achieve. It is the only recognition based entirely on what employees report about their workplace experience – specifically, how consistently they experience a high-trust workplace. Great Place to Work Certification is recognized worldwide by employees and employers alike and is the global benchmark for identifying and recognizing outstanding employee experience.

Every year, more than 10,000 companies across 60 countries apply to get Great Place to Work-Certified. “Great Place to Work Certification™ isn’t something that comes easily – it takes ongoing dedication to the employee experience,” said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, vice president of global recognition at Great Place to Work.

This is an important milestone for our company and is a testament to the work we have done to establish a workplace culture where employees can thrive. Although we are proud of this accomplishment, we will continue to work hard to ensure that we develop an environment that fosters a healthy workplace where our employees feel they can succeed personally and professionally.

Toby Gabriner, CEO

The Great Place to Work Certification is truly a new step towards a bigger and brighter Bitly. Having a healthy work environment that fosters a culture of inclusion and allyship and supports diversity, mental health, and work/life balance are integral to our DE&I efforts. We’re very excited about how this certification will continue to shape our professional landscape and support our new and existing employees in the future.

What Bitly  Means to Our Employees

What makes Bitly truly stand out is that many of the attributes candidates are looking for now in this new world of work – ability to make an impact, flexibility, work/life balance, remote first, great company culture, transparent leadership, sense of purpose, focus on diversity, equity and inclusion, and investment and care for the whole person – Bitly has been practicing for some time and its authentic. You add to that a great growth story, competitive compensation and benefits, ability to learn and grow with the company and work with some amazing people, it’s a really attractive employee value proposition in a space where many other companies are struggling to keep up.

Bitly has an amazing work culture in my three and half year tenure.  Even before the pandemic: work-life integration, the people, DEI have always been at the forefront of our values.  I have never worked for a company who has put so much thought and care into their employee’s well-being, opinions and accommodations.  Everyone that I have worked with at Bitly has amazing collaboration, intent and respect for one another.  Lastly, for a small company, Bitly’s benefits are comparable to the larger organizations in tech: they consistently strive to take care of their employees with great benefits that cover not just them, but their families as well!

A few things stand out for me about working here. The first of which are the interviewing/onboarding processes. It’s such an inclusive process; most companies you’ll interview with one, maybe two people. But being able to speak with not just my superior, but also my future colleagues, gave me a better sense of connection to the position and to the work we do. The onboarding is intense, but in a good way! You get to learn a little bit of everything. The culture here is remarkably different from some of the previous roles I’ve had. I’ve been to places where I felt unable to speak up and/or constantly walking on eggshells and I’ve yet to feel that way here at Bitly. I love the strides we have made and continue to make in terms of diversity and inclusion and am looking forward to what’s in store for our future.

Without going into too many details, I have been able to experience the true meaning of the word community in the past year at Bitly. After experiencing not one, but multiple personal losses, I have been provided as much support, kind gestures, and time off as any one person could hope for. It has really solidified my understanding of community and being somewhere that respects you as a person.

“My fellow Bitizens are my favorite part of working at Bitly; I have always felt included, appreciated, and supported. People are genuinely excited about the product and always willing to help in any given situation. Creativity and innovation are valued, and we are allowed space and freedom to explore. At Bitly, you are a human first, celebrated for individuality, given grace, and treated with respect.”
