Bitly is making some updates to our Free plan. First, we thank you for your continued loyalty! We have included answers below to some common questions regarding updates to our plans.
Why is Bitly changing this plan?
As a long-time customer, you’ve probably seen our products, features, and plans evolve over the years. We periodically update our plan offerings with new capabilities in the interest of maximizing value for all customers. With the addition of recent features such as Bitly Pages, customizable QR Codes, security enhancements, and improvements to the web interface and Bitly app, we are now rebalancing our account tiers. This will allow us to serve your needs better and continue investing in adding features and functionality that help empower your growth.
Will Bitly continue to offer a free account?
Yes, we will continue to offer a free account option under the Free plan. Customers on our Free plan are essential in helping us deliver on our mission to make every link and QR Code a catalyst for connection. We’ve worked to ensure our Free plan continues to deliver robust, powerful features through the Bitly Connections Platform. What will my new monthly link limits be?
The Free plan includes 5 links, 2 QR Codes, and 2 Bitly Pages.
Will my previous links break or will I lose data or access to these links with these plan changes?
Don’t worry, any links you created previously will continue to work without disruption; data for your existing links are safe and won’t be lost. Your links are safely stored and accessible in the same place and way you normally access your links: Through the Bitly Connections Platform you can continue to view, manage, and track the performance of your previously created links and QR Codes to view the features available for each plan, including link limits, check out our pricing page.
What is the Bitly billing policy for paid plans?
Bitly will charge your credit card once a month—or per year, for annual plans—starting on the day you upgrade your account. You can cancel at any time and continue using Bitly for the remainder of the current billing period; refunds are not issued for unused portions of your billing period.
